The cost to produce free horse training information is enormous, and unfortunately,
we are unable to meet the demands of RFD-TV. So we respectfully had to decline

I agree, but he's been on rfd tv so long, who's to know how long he has been eating the cost of doing it. And although one should be grateful to anyone who helps boost a career, the person(s) who helped often turn around and take advantage of the celebrity. No one moans when athletes make it big and drop their small sponsors for the big ones. |

| Just from the info on here I don't see where anyone is in the wrong. RFD may or may not have asked for money, but even if they did, it's business. Clinton didn't want to pay more ( if that was the case) and I can't blame him either. It's just business. I didn't even know about RFD until someone told me they had horse training shows. That is the only reason I watch RFD - for the horse shows and rodeo. I don't follow Clinton, but I don't see any fault on either side. I think both parties benefitted from each other and now neither one needs the other to survive. JMO  |

Location: Bandera, TX | All the horse trainers that do have shows on RFD-TV have to pay to be on the air. I’m friends with one of these trainers and a few years ago the fee was 100k. The hopes are to get a good ROI through advertisers and obviously selling your own brand and products. In addition you have the production cost and time.
It certainly helps to promote your brand and business, but I’m also sure that after so many years you have reached maturity on what you can capture and the cost/time is no longer of benefit.

Location: Fort Worth / Springtown | Everytime I see his name I think of a man who told me barrel racers wouldn't have any problems stopping their horse in the alley if they all knew how to do a one rein stop. eta -- I reread and want to clarify it wasn't CA that told me this -- just someone who was friends with a CA certified trainer
I don't have a satellite tv so don't get RFD TV -- what I do have is a rental subscription to horse videos and I've rented a couple of his that were episodes from RFDTV, it seemed. I didn't see any training methods I hadn't seen before from someone else - and it was mostly his commercial played throughout.
* eta -- if OP's intention was just to inform where to find videos of his since he won't be on RFD, anymore - thanks -- knowing where to find free horse videos on the internet is helpful - especially for someone w/o cable or satellite :)

WNFR in December of 2013 ... the lost programs and financial losses has hurt RFD TV ...
The owner of a TV network that covers Western and cowboy lifestyles is baffled by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s decision to pick CBS Sports Network over his network to broadcast the Las Vegas-based National Finals Rodeo.
Patrick Gottsch, founder and chairman of Omaha, Neb.-based RFD-TV, said he offered $1 million to the PRCA for the broadcast rights for the NFR, considered the Super Bowl of rodeos. Gottsch said RFD-TV planned to broadcast 200 hours of PRCA content such as the NFR and other PRCA “Champions Challenge” events to 65 million homes.
Instead, the PRCA announced this month that it will pay CBS Sports Network to broadcast 48 hours of the NFR and other Champions rodeo events in 2014 and 2015. The CBS Sports Network’s website said it’s available to 96 million homes, but Gottsch disagreed and said the CBS Sports
Network’s reach is 53 million homes.
Gottsch learned RFD-TV’s bid was rejected on Dec. 10 when PRCA Commissioner

Clinton has done an excellent job of setting up his training programs for the least
to the most accomplished horsemen to benefit horse owners forever.
If you have never been to his ranch for his in depth training sessions, sent a horse thru
his program or purchased any of his high quality tack ...
you have missed seeing how well organized he is down to the most minute details.
His layout and the placement of his training aids and buildings on his ranch can only
be appreciated by those that have built a place from scratch and followed his methods
per the order of his video training methods.
As Clinton has stressed many times ... his TV program is for entertainment purposes
and to give you a desire to learn his training methods from start to finish!!
His personal integrity nor his successful straight forward training programs cannot
be questioned by those that lack his success, his horsemanship skills and ability to
teach others how to become a better horseman in a few hours due to his sharing

I'm happy WNFR didn't go with RFD-TV. CBS has a lot more to offer and quality. I didn't know Great American County was with RFD-TV.
I 'm happy to see Clinton leave as he will find a way to get his method out to the horse people. He is absolutely the best clinician and his method works amazingly when you follow the order. |

To add a little to your story......and who do you suppose worked for MANY years for Wrangler before taking the PRCA position ?????
Gottsch said Stressman informed him that Wrangler — a major PRCA sponsor — blocked the RFD-TV bid. Stressman could not be reached for comment. |

He sure seemed not to be able to get a horse in the show pen and get anything done. Winning one reining competition back in 1997 in Australia isn't very impressive to me.. |
