| I ride a 16 inch seat. Being squished into a seat is not what holds you on. It is your weight in the stirrups. In order to get your feet forward, you have to be able to get your fanny back far enough in the saddle, I M 5' 5" about 160. I am not particularly fat but not skinny either. Most of mine is boobs which has no effect om seat size. I do not have thunder thighs either. I will say that it did take me a little while to get used to that seat size but I love it now. |

| I ride in a 14.5, 4"8 (the stirrups had to be adjusted), 115, and I actually am riding in the saddle I've had since I was 9 (21 now) . I wouldn't change anything since it is well broke in haha. I also got a circle y for my younger horse in the same size and haven't had any problems. |

Location: North Dakota | 15.5-16" is ideal for me. I ride in a 15" saddle because that's the one that fit my horse. I CAN squeeze my fat arse in a 14.5" though if I have to. |

| I am glad this thread was created!
I ride in a 15". I am 5'7 and my weight fluctuates from the 155-165.
I would not change anything. I have about an inch in between my thigh and the saddle. |

I'm sure it depends on the brand, but all the 14's I tried seemed too big. |

Location: Kentucky | I've had the same saddle since I was 12, and that's an NBHA Circle Y 15". I'm 6 foot, 150 pounds, size 28 Cowgirl Tuff jean. I would like to try a smaller seat, to see if maybe another size would suite me better. I honestly know no different than my 15" seat. |

Location: never in the right place | depends on the saddle. my Caldwell is 14.5 and is too big, bought a KK studded crod 14.5 and it was a tight fit but I couldn't really sit it well, got bucked off because I couldn't get my feet in front of me by sitting back and doswn , bought a 15" Meleta Brown and love it. 5'5 155 |

| I ride a 14.5" fx3. I'm 5'10 and 160-170. I like to be snug but not trapped. A friend had a 15" circle y (newer but don't remember he style) that felt ridiculously tight to me, I hated it. I also just sold a 14" RS that fit me and in a double j Pozzi i had a 14.5 but could have done a 14 with no issues. |

Location: SW North Dakota | This might sound weird but I kind of like different saddles on different horses... I have a 14.5 Merrill that I like for big, floaty, finished horses. I have room in the seat and the stirrups are hung rather loosely, so I feel like I can be more athletic with my body and feet. I have a 14" Merrill that I prefer for unfinished horses- a little more snug seat with the ability to easily help them with my legs and feet. For the little "crotch-rocket" horses, I like my 14" Cactus (non-endorsed). The stirrups are hung pretty stiff, so I don't get unintended movement. I feel more restricted in this saddle, but it helps prevent them from over-reacting if I move too much while they are a$$-grabbing. I'm 5'6" and 160#- size 29x36 in Rock and Roll jeans. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | 5'7" 130 with some booty, size 28/29 jeans and I ride a 14-14.5, depending on the saddle. I want enough room to be able to roll my pelvis, sit deep, and brace my elbow because I ride horses that are goobers sometimes. |

Location: Weatherford, TX | I am 5'7" and weigh about 140 now or 125-130 at riding/showing weight. I could ride in a 13.5 or 14 inch, but I ride in a 14.5 because I like to roll my hips and move in a saddle. I have at least an inch to an inch-and-a-half between my thigh and the pommel. Personally, I don't like to be too snug. If I am too snug, I feel like I can't move my hips and I end up tipping my upper body. I hope that all made sense. :) |

Location: Montana | I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs., and prefer a 14" seat, possibly a 14.5". I used to ride a 15" and it was too big. I really like Courts or Circle Y "The Proven" saddles (the older Proven's, not the newer) but they both have higher cantles. I feel more secure in those sizes, and have about an inch room. |

| I'm male, 5'11" 185 ( Recently lost 100 pounds). I ride a 16" but had to order a 15" to run my young horse in. He is so fast and quick I could not stay put in the 16" on him.. My other finished horse is 16.1 hands tall and 1350 pounds IN SHAPE and I ride him in the 16" with absolutely no problems but he is a big, smooth, style horse so it feels fine. |
