I'm putting my husband on a low carb diet and I need some recipes that will work for a very picky eater.  Yes even though I'm a zeal girl I've tried to get him to use it to lose weight but he thinks he needs food in his mouth instead of a shake LOL.

what does he like to eat? I have lots of low carb receipes but my hubby will eat anything as long as there's meat or cheese of some kind in it. Only things that are a "no" are tomatoes and cooked spinach leaves.

He likes steak, potatoes, and bread.  pretty much sums it up.  He'll eat quesadillas, spaghetti, tacos, cheeseburgers, hot dogs....pretty much anything unhealthy that doesn't inlcude veggies!!

A replacement for breads and such are these low carb tortillas. I have eaten them all and this is the best one.

https://www.heb.com/product-detail/la-tortilla-factory-high-fiber-lo...

Also, my wife made refried beans from soybeans and it was really good with meat and cheese in a burrito.

She also used her kitchen aid attachment and made spaghetti out of zucchini. It was also pretty good with a lower carb sauce and meatballs.

You can also slow cook pork and chicken in a crock pot and shred it. Also, low carb coleslaw is really good too. Egg Salad. If I could just afford steak everyday, I would be happy.

Pot Roast? (I do not add cornstarch or flour to mine.) Chicken tortilla soup? There are a ton of great ideas on pinterest. Are you also on the low carb diet? I haven't made my hubby switch completely...but we eat reduced sugar diets and I goal set for about 80% clean and 20% crap. This discourages any binges and allows for not being that "diffcult friend" when eating out somewhere, but also allows for enough of a change that it does make a difference every day.

If you make anything with sugar maybe try Splenda or another low cal. sugar. Also when getting milk/yogurt or something like that- try to get the reduced sugar or fat, if he'll eat it. Good Luck!!

Long time off and on low carber. Cauliflower makes a very good substitute for potatoes, especially mashed. Sweet potatoes are a good option. Sautéed avocado in bacon grease with fried eggs brings Joy to my heart, lol. I'm a condiment junkie so I really missed BBQ sauce. Finally found G Hubbs brand and the hickory is my fave.

I am so going to have to try the avocado and egg deal! I also love eggs and tuna. It is something my dad made us as kids when we had no other food one day. I recently rediscovered it and it is an amazingly good, quick, healthy meal.

Go to bariatriceating.com. There is a recipe tab.  All the recipes are high protein and low carb as that is what weight loss patients have to eat.

http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html   TONS of recipes here!

I make lots of quiche type casseroles. Bacon cheeseburger casserole is my favorite.
Stuffed mushrooms, pizza with cauliflower or cheese/cream cheese crusts, meatloaf.
My staples are mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans.  Roasted zucchini.. I want to try the zucchini noodles.  Shiratiki noodles (no carb) when you just really want pasta.

Don't want to steal a thread but I did follow the Medifast plan the FIRST HALF of the weightloss. Then kept to the guidelines without their food for the rest of the 100.

Check the the app "Fit Men Cook". My husband (and myself) have loved everything we've made using these recipes so far! Some of the ingredients look a little off the wall (ground bison, goat cheese, etc) but oh my goodness, SO tasty!! It classifies the recipes into categories and will add the ingredients straight to a shopping list depending on how many you're feeding. There are even meal prep recipes!

Actually, most items with reduced fat, have higher carbs. Greek yogurt (check the label to be sure) has higher protein and lower carbs.
As far as low carb recipes, go to Pinterest and do a search. There are thousands!
My diet is simple. Nothing white. No rice, no potatoes, no bread, no pasta, nothing with flour or sugar. I use Splenda Brown Sugar, but I recently discovered that even that has the same amount of carbs as regular brown sugar.
Just read labels.
My diet is not about weight loss (although I need that, too) but it's about lowering my blood sugar due to diabetes.

AGREE AGREE AGREE!  I was going to state how "low fat" is worse than regular. "IF IT'S WHITE IT'S OUT!".

Just made these Chicken Fajitas yesterday and they were amazing:  cut up fresh red pepers, green peppers, yellow peppers, mushrooms, red onions.  Put in bottom of oval, large crockpot. Place four boneless, skinless chicken breasts on top. Sprinkle both sides of chicken with taco seasoning. Spread one can diced tomatoes over top. DO NOT ADD WATER.  Put on low, cook all day. I put it on at 7:00 in morning and we ate it at 5:30 p.m. VERY TASTY!

There isn't a man I know who does not love BACON!!  I fry up a bunch and keep in the frige for a quick snack, to add to a sandwich (using lettuce leaves instead of bread), or to mix with some scrambled eggs or omelet. Basically just eat LOTS of meats and vegetables, but not the bad veggies (no corn, peas).

GOOD LUCK
