| Yeah, the boy is super talented and SUPER obnoxious. Has nothing to do with his race, it has to do with his behavior. I've never been a big Bronco fan but dang, I hope Denver crushes Carolina. (Sorry Carolina peeps). |

Here's what he said: When Cam Newton told reporters Wednesday, “I’m an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they haven’t seen nothing they can compare me to,”
I have something I can compare him to but I'm trying to be nice today so i can't say it.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Just, to elaborate on WHY he said what he said. He was asked why he receives a lot of criticism. His answer was perfectly valid. He's not wrong. In the history of the NFL, he's only the 6th African American QB's to make it to the Super Bowl. If Carolina wins, he will only be the 3rd African American QB to win the Super Bowl. He's right. There haven't been a lot of black QB's make it to his level of ability, so they criticize him because it's "new". Russell Wilson was criticized because he wasn't more "showy" when the Seahawks were on top of their game a few years ago.

Why the heck is it OK for he or you or anyone else to ASSUME that it must be racially motivated if we are critical of any African american in any capacity? That's ridiculous...and a cop out. I couldn't care less if he were red, pink, orange, white, brown or purple. He had integrity issues in college and an attitude. He still clearly has an attitude problem. And it's unappealing. I have MUCH more respect for Peyton Manning. Not because he is white...but because he is genuine and humble.
It is embarassing to see the amount of showboating and celebration that goes on from a simple caught pass, tackle, touchdown...whatever. When I was in sports as a kid that was seen as bad sportsmanship. The way so many of them do it now...with their choreographed elaborate celebrations...you would think they just cured cancer. Be humble...and let your talent speak for itself. |

BFD!!! I'm probably going to get slammed for this, but I don't care.
I don't care if he is the 1st african american QB to win the super bowl. Why do African Americans always think they have to be awarded because they are african american? They are HUMANS. Last time I checked, color doesn't make them different, faster, better, smarter, or anything for that matter. He's just another great athlete, just like Payten Manning, or any other football player, baseball player, basketball player, etc. Being African American shouldn't matter. |

| I think its cool that the "Blind Side" kid plays for NC too.......so I think I am a NC fan. I watched a video clip of Cam giving his cleats away to a kid in a wheelchair too. His statement doesn't bother me at all. I have heard much worse come out of athletes mouths. |

We sure don't see Russell looking for attention when he makes big plays. Even Cam's "look at me give a ball to a kid" is still all about him. In my life I have never rooted for the Denver Broncos (especially since the Seahawks used to be in their division in the AFC West) but I will be rooting for Denver to crush the Panthers. |

So what do you think of Luke Banquinho shaking his booty , Fred Whitfield pumping his hands in the air, or the cowboys that throw their hats in the stands.....I guess they shouldn't "over" celebrate.....gees, folks.......athletes who take part in antics like this are playing to the FANS!

What is so wrong about that? LMAO...
Seriously, the guy is 6'5, 250lbs and a tremendous athlete. He was is an elite QB in college and is an elite QB in the Pro's. He believes he's all that and a bag of chips, and boasts about it. Big deal... It's football what do you expect him to say?
I don't care who wins - I'm just looking forward to a great game!
