Cleaning a Painted Saddle?

Location: North Dakota		I tried googling this but wasn't coming up with anything...I just bought a new saddle that has a painted background on the floral tooling. Normally I oil the underside of my saddles and use a damp sponge with just like lexol saddle soap or whatever on the topside of saddles. Will that damage the paint? What would you recommend?

It should not...... IF they sealed it properly after painting. If you are worried, try a small spot under the jockey or in an inconspicuous place.

It's a Martin, so I would hope they sealed it right! They certainly do enough painted ones...
