I am on the search for a pole/barrel horse and prefer a flashy paint. Best place to search for them? Haven't had much luck finding any

They are rare!

I love my paints! I ride a sorrel overo! Good luck on your search! But yes, FB is amazing cause you can look up APHA or Paint in the groups.

Where are you located? I know of two sorrel overo mares in the NW.

I don't think they are rare. There are plenty out there from youngstock, started to finished. I keep wishing I could buy one well started and competing but have youngstock that husband says must be sold first. UGH. Try the facebook page APHA Running Bred & Barrel horses For Sale page.

Happy Shopping!

I would also recommend facebook. There are several boards that allow you to put up wanted ads. We have three registered paints but only one has spots.

Check with Circle C Cattle Co in Buffalo Texas.
My mare I purchased was the 2015 reserve senior barrel racing world champion, overall 1-D APHA horse, Overall APHA Mare, and reserve overall APHA horse. Markay has some stellar horses and i believe she has one for sale now.

I like your mare, diva or not, she sure is nice. One of my mares used to behave like a diva too, she was sure fun to ride and is now retired to broodmare duties.  Your mare just wants everyone to know she is "special". If I come across a money tree, I'll call you.

If you are interested in starting from scratch there is a lady in Clear Lake, SD who raises some very nice barrel race bred APHA babies.  You can PM me.

Look at Flaten Ranch - they are located in Sparta - near Tomah - they have paint barrel and pole horses for sale - and their stallion placed in the top 5 out an National (High School Finals).  Slide By Leo is his name, paint Grandson of Leo.
