I am starting to feel like finding a nice prospect that's at least started under saddle and under 5k is like finding a unicorn! Is it the wrong time of year? Am I not looking the right places? Have searched all over FB, dream horse and here and I haven't found much and when I do find one it either sells before I can go look or the owner doesn't get back to me, even had one guy change his mind about the horse being for sale uhg it's rough lol. Race bred, cowbred, cross I don't care just a nice mare with potential that's broke enough not to buck is that so much to ask lol!

One other spot to look is in bc/Alberta with our crappy dollar you can get way more bang for your buck.

I am in the exact same boat as well! I have found a few but they were snatched up pretty quick. I am confident the right one will come along but I am getting impatient! You could always start calling cow horse/cutter barns and ask what they have. Word of mouth is great too.

Check with Kim Smith @ bestfithorsebrokers.com or Mary Ann Munkers @ munkers farms.com. I live in WA and just found a nice 4 year old buckskin filly, started for under 5k! She is by A Firewater Twist RB and out of an older running bred mare! They are out there!

I have looked at both but have only seen stuff way out of my price range!! But if you found one I will keep checking what they have! Thank you!

Good luck I think they are the hardest to find. I was looking this time two years ago and had several I wanted that sold the minute they were listed. Took me until the end of August to find and buy and he was a year younger than I had hoped for. Good luck. Seems like they are stupid high or sell immediately.
