Location: Georgia | I'm friends with her on facebook. This was her first time using a new saddle and apparently just wasnt used to the rigging. Luckily she, the horse, and the saddle are all fine! I think she ran the next night at another rodeo and all went good. She posted the video and she had a nice run going before things went south! |

It actually ended up worse because the darn breast collar wouldn't break and caused the saddle to drag and panic the horse. |

Geez I'm not preaching, just saying! So the saddle slipped back to where the front girth was around the horse's flank?? I get it that a saddle can roll even with a breast collar, but it won't slide all the way back like this one did. |

Glad they are both ok! If you've been around long enough, you've had something like this happen to you..... I know the pain!! |

How could a saddle with a breast collar slip that far back without it breaking...?
I've seen this picture all over facebook. What perfect timing and an excellent job by the the photographer! I'm glad to hear everyone is ok!
He looks like he could be quite the rough stock horse! |

Just hide the Photo for 20 years then pull it out, frame it and put it on the mantel.
It will be a GREAT ONE to show the grandkids....

It can't slip that far back without breaking the breast collar. Not with a proper fitting breast collar (now I see people who don't put breast collars on tight enough, but that is an entirely different cup of tea)
HOWEVER, I do run with a breast collar, I have had a BRAND NEW saddle malfunction (like 3 rides on it before that), and almost ended up with a horse with two broken legs as she was trying to jump over the saddle that was hanging in front of her by the breast collar. Luckily she is an awful jumper and just ended up flailing with her front legs kicking the saddle's bottom. She ran around much like this horse did in the video and but it took less than that one required to stop her, a gutsy person on the side of the arena reached out and grabbed her reins as she was running by and pulled her around to him.
Point to add, I still will never be caught dead running without a breast collar. Mainly because, I've already had that accident once, what's the odds of it happening again? haha |

Am the only one who thought I was going to open the thread and see actual bronc riders trying to get a horse through the barrel pattern??
When I opened and saw the picture I wondered how in the world they got polos/boots on a saddle bronc. . . . I'm so slow on the uptake sometimes |
