| Justice Scalia died today at 79. Thank you Sir for your service to this country. You will truly be missed. Sadly with your passing I am afraid so does our Constitution.

Location: Bastrop, Texas | Here we are faced with a GOP that has the power to delay or block a THIRD Obamunist appointee to the Supreme Court. Now their feet will be held to the fire. So far they've been a dissappointment, even though they hold a majority in both houses. That's why a guy like Trump is leading in the polls. |

Trump would be the last one I want picking the Next Justice period. |

Here's his take on a recess appointment:

Location: Kansas | Interesting that all in the same mock speech Obama mourned the loss of Judge Scalia but deemed it his "Constitutional responsibility" to replace him as quickly as possible. Since when has he ever concerned himself with our Constitution other than to ignore it.

| Until now, I would have said that the chances of a constituional convention were pretty slim. If Obama gets a third appointee to the Supreme Court, it will be necessary within 5 years. |

Honestly, Jim, I have a very hard time seeing that happen. |

The Senate must not confirm any nominee to the Supreme Court from President Obama. The Senate must hold off any confirmation until the next President is seated. Unfortunately the presidential debates have been more theater and less substance about the real issues surrounding the Supreme Court. The election of the next President has now taken on even greater importance. The future of the Supreme Court and America now depends on the Senate blocking any nominee by President Obama and the people electing the right person to occupy the White House,” said Staver.

The Supreme Court has nothing to do with the appointment of the next Justice. The President nominates and the Senate confirms. The court however can choose not to decide a case until there is a full court. |

And 'that' would be the most honorable thing to do.................However over the last 7+ years, SCOTUS has not acted with just a whole lot of honor.

Doc, you're not alone in thinking I'm nuts. I'm also not one of those hoping for a convention.
One more liberal justice, however, and our constitution is nullified for generations. Words and rule of law mean nothing to them. I think the coming attacks on the first and second amendments will bring this country to historical levels of division not seen since the civil war. |

Which with the aligning current events, Civil War II could well be shaping up via viewing everything in a Historical Perspective.
