Hi! I am getting ready to run barrels at a big barrel race Monday and Tuesday. I did a practice run on my horse on Monday and he was perfect. Then worked him on Wednesday and he starting ducking to the left once we got to the first. I took him to this morning to be Chrio and have a vet check and he is sound. So, after being adjusted I went and worked him this afternoon. Initially, he started to do it again. Then, I realized i was not giving him enough pocket. Once I did that he started turning the first and did it several times. I need help deciding, do I work him again on the barrels tomorrow as well to be sure the problem is fixed or just take him on a nice trail ride and not work barrels till I run Monday? I personally need the reassurance but do not want him getting burned out either. Plus has anyone had a problem with a horse ducking due to not enough pocket.

Our Chiro usually recommends giving them a few days off after an adjustment.

Absolutely! We always have given ours a few days to let the adjustments set it. By riding him you probably just wasted your money.
