| I'm interested in hearing about success/failures in treating IAD. What did your vet recommend? I've talked to three vets, all with slightly different ideas, all with some success and some failure. Just wanted to see what everyone else has done. Thank you for sharing! |

You can check out the second vet forum. Many people post their progress on there. My mare was diagnosed with COPD and Cur-OST has helped her tremedously.

Location: So. Cali. | I may be brief as it did not happen to me but a good friend. She just got the clear after 4 months of treating her gelding. I know he was on daily inhaler treatments, I believe twice a day with 3 different inhalers given. Please PM me if you'd like her direct contact info as she is not a board member.

Location: NE Texas | Cur-OST, hands down, for any respiratory issues. Trust me on this one. There are several of us on here who have tried it all and spent thousands on medications, vet bills, supplements, and treatments and the Cur-OST products got it under control in less than 3- days. My particular horse had exceeded all medical options and was in complete respiratory distress, with the last vet advising me to put him down. Cur-OST was a last resort for me, and boy am I glad I found them! The pictures below are March 23 and then April 24.

| I am a Cur-Ost fan as well. Thanks to Herbie and the others who had positive results! You could hear my horse wheeze from 12 feet away...it was bad....I did the Cur-Ost Total and Immune together for the first bit twice a day and now he gets the Total only......this product truly gave him another chance. I am a believer because I have seen it work. I have a happy horse again.....that can breathe! |

| I use the Silver Horse Care Nebulizer. We use Colloidal Silver which helps kill over 650 different bacteria. It is anti fungal, anti-viralm, anti microbial and anti bacterial. I have read a lot of articles on the benefits of silver. Ask your vet if it's something they think would be helpful. If so I am happy to answer any questions on the Silver Horse Care Machine.

| I think it depends on each individual horse and the symptoms they're exhibiting - my understanding is IAD is a bit of a blanket diagnosis for respiratory distress that's not bleeding.
When mine was diagnosed he was coughing occasionally in his stall and at the beginning of a workout and then all of a sudden at the start of work he would constantly cough when he went faster than a walk.
To the vet we went, scoped him and diagnosed with IAD. Initially we moved him to the best ventilated stall in our barn, moved to low dust shavings, wetted his hay down, and made certain to not bring him inside when we were doing things like sweeping the aisles or bedding other stalls that creates a lot of dust. He also went on a 2 week run of clenbuteral.
Less than 48 hours off the clenbuteral and the cough was back just as bad. More discussions with the vet and we decided to test him for allergies.
Sure enough came back allergic to grass hay primarily, some pollens, bugs, etc. He's gone on the allergy shots (very affordable), is living in a run in shed at my boyfriends now were there's no shavings and very little dust, and we've revamped his feeding program to exclude allergens for a while.
He's been on the shots about 9 months now and we are back to feeding him good quality (much better quality than before) grass hay. I will say the past few times that I've ridden him there's been no coughing - I'm thrilled!
I've looked at the Cur-ost and if we have issues when he goes back in full work might look at it harder, but this is working wonderfully right now. If your vet isn't familiar with the allergy testing and I can get you info on the lab my vet sends his into. |

ETA this mare was diagnoised with Allergies, and she was allergic to everything I'm not even joking. She is eating the very things she was allergic to now being on Cur-Ost.

Location: Lost in the swamps | I've done just about everything except allergy testing And curost. Wet hay ,no stalling,keeping grass cut. Done scopes,showed little mucus. And a bal wash that showed NOTHING. Nebed him last year with a homemade FILTERED nebulizer. (Really helped get the junk out) Used low dose dex...(which I hate) tried anihist ugh no results, tried tri hist granulas he went 100% anhydrodic on just one dose!!!
Going to try curost Which is my next step. To trying to not have to use dex. Right now he's on Clem before a race. Will. Start curost soon before the heat hits. And is that doesn't work it's back to nebing and Clem and allergy test.

Location: NE Texas | Good point, smokingirlie. When the immune system is over reacting, even allergy testing can be unreliable, as it can lend false positives via allergy testing like it did for your mare. |

| Look at how often your horse has been vaccinated.
Some vets have started to shift their vaccine protocols, as there is more evidence to support over vaccinating is contributing to inflammatory airway disease.
The reasoning is when the horse inhails the bacteria/virus, the memory cells are activated in the nasal cavity, the white blood cells are beckoned to kill the virus/bacteria causing an influx of blood cells, platelets to the airway, therefore causing inflammation in the airway. |

Location: North Dakota | Yes I started with the loading dose of Total support and regular dose of Immune for my COPD mare. I think they are both important and should be used together for horses with allergies/immune system problems. It can be expensive to start out but the results you see in your horse will be well worth it! This is my COPD mare after about 6 weeks on Total and Immune and about 3 weeksa after adding Rejuvenate. She had some hind gut issues we needed to address still. It is amazing what these products can do for them, insdie and out!

Location: Oklahoma | My horse has copd. Hated him on the steriods. He always looked like he didnt feel good and his coat not looking good at all. I started with the total support and the immune for 90 days and now he is only on the total support. He has not coughed one time in bout 2 months now! Our weather has changed and still no cough! He looks and feels really good! Will not go back to steriods! He has had a cough for four-five years and has been super sick on me 2x but I am very confident this is the answer for him! thanks Herbie! |

Yes, the Total Support combined with the Immune & Repair for 90 days. I also use the Adapt & Calm, as I know stress is a huge contributor for my horse's respiratory issues. After about 30 days into the program, I changed my feeding program to whole grains (whole oats, boss) and removed anything processed to again eliminate any contributors to the inflammation.
