Anyone own or run a horse that "roars"? I need some insight on it. My horse may be showing signs. Success stories/treatments/maintenance would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I've read that the surgery only has a 50-70% success rate as well as a lot of complications on top of it. Are there any other options?

If it is a flapper issue 50 to 70% is better than what u have at the moment..its all managable but i would wait and see what the scope tells you..it may not even be a flapper issue..:

Have you ever had one "roar" when they bled? Bc her symptoms have been extremely episodic and seem to be brought on when she exerts herself without a proper warm up or when the air is extremely dry or dusty.

She most likely is bleeding just not bleeding out. I would take her in have her her scoped ASAP.
?ETA: If she were a roarer you would most likely hear it way more often than if she didn't have a proper warm up. The one I had
(sold him before we got him fixed
) you could hear it just walking him from the pen to the trailer to saddle. Not putting forth any extra effort.

Have had them gurgle when they have bled. This mare inparticular bled back very badly and was gurgling.
