Has anyone ever ordered from this company? I noticed they are an international company. They are called Albler and sell an omeprazole product called abprozole. It comes in a coated granules, paste or pill.  For some reason on my desktop computer I cant get the link to come up clickable in this post... so you'll have to copy and paste.   http://www.abler.com/gastric-ulcer-treatments

It's been around for a few years and pretty popular, I've ordered twice from them and it was on a hunch that my horses had ulcers (now think it's actually PSSM) so I can't definitively say if it worked or not but a lot of people have had success. There are a few other cheaper options out there now I will say though. When I showed my vet Abler he was a little concerned with the math on the Omeprazole they did because it was wrong (they're overseas though so thats probably why) but the package came from India and now that I found cheaper companies (and Aloe Vera juice lol) I'll stick with those

It is cheaper to treat with oxygen ulcer, then feed the oxygen max that Ed and Martha Wright use. I treated my ulcer horse with this and haven't had a issue since. And it treats both fore and hind gut ulcers. Where omeprozole does not. And you need to adjust your feed also. Low starch such as Renew Gold. Alfalfa hay also. As far as Aloe Vera juice, you can use it or Papaya juice as a mainttenance. J Berry is a rep on here. She would be better able to explain everything.

I have ordered from abler and given it to an ulcer prone horse who I can't give paste to, her symptoms went away.

I have also used their granule worming products which have proven effective by fecal count.

Their customer service is excellent, they didn't send me a tracking number and it should have arrived, they had no record of shipping it so they sent me another package. 2 days later the first shipment made it so I ended up with 2 orders for the price of 1

I had a mare with ulcers last year, ordered the abprazole and didn't notice much of a change at all. She's not normally a picky eater, but seemed to take 3x as long to eat her grain with the granules in it.

The end of January I had an off track mare I recently purchased show all the signs of ulcers, so decided to treat her with an extremely affordable omeprazole suspension made by a somewhat local pharmacist. Noticed a HUGE difference and all her symptoms went away. I did not change anything as far as feed, exercise routine, etc. Just added the suspension. I wish I would have done a before/after scope, as I'm positive it was ulcers and would have liked to have seen just how much of a difference it made. The product can be ordered from http://equinerxsolutions.com/ with your vets approval. It costs less than $200 for the 28 days at treatment dose, with enough left over to either taper off, or save for prevention on race days, travel days, etc.

The abprazole is very bitter tasting.  My horse wouldn't touch it.  Try the Cur-OST Stomach formula.  No acid buffers to affect poor nutrient assimilation like omeprazole or ranitidine or other acid buffers do.  You'll love the Cur-OST formulas.  They smell great and horses love them, especially the Stomach.

Yes, I've ordered from them several times.  Always seems to clear up the symptoms I am seeing in my horses.  It's easy to feed and the horses eat them no prob.  had good luck with it!

During hauling season or stressful events or when I'm treating one I use their granules. I have had amazing results with them. If I need to squirt it in their mouth (won't eat grain) I warm up about 5-10ml kayro syrup and put them with it in a syringe and give it that way. Otherwise I use a small amount of kayro, corn oil or just use a handful of sweet feed to make them stick to the grain. The one thing about it is you can't put water on their feed when feeding the granules because it removes the protective coating that gets the meds to where they need to go.

It takes about a month for the free shipping but oh so worth it to me. I keep some on hand now.

Omeprazole TREATS gastric ulcers---read the label of all these others--most resemble human TUMS--calcium carbonate and magnesium--just neutralizes the already present acid. Horses produce over a quart of acid every hour 24 hours a day--the neutralizers just buffer for 2 hours. Great to use these a half hour before stress to try to buffer while horse has an empty stomach (trailering or riding) BUT if you really have an ulcer it needs TREATMENT--acid suppression for 28 days to allow the ulcer to heal. Omeprazole is that drug that can suppress acid production (up to 90%) for 24-26 hours so once a day dosing. Then find an Omeprazole product that is LAB proven and ENDOSCOPIC proven to work--ask before you order if the product has been tested IN and OUT of the lab--like Gastrogard/Ulcergard has been. And now my proprietary omeprazole suspension has been proven by lab and endoscopy. It is an AFFORDABLE omeprazole formula compounded by a legal accredited compounding pharmacy--it does need your vets order because Equine Pharmacy Solution is a Pharmacy. www.equinerxsolutions.com on the bottom of the website is an equine rx form your vet can fax or call in. $200 for 30 days at treatment dosage. Works out to $6.67 per day to treat and $1.67 per day to prevent.
ASK--Made in the USA?? Use human grade USA pharmaceuticals? In the good old USA there are governing laws and boards for compounding pharmaceuticals (drugs) for humans and animals. IF it's being shipped in from who knows where with no Lab proof that it is what it claims to be--do you really want to give it to your horse? Ulcers could be the least of your worries.

Just a question because I am curious and clueless.  Why do we still need a script for omeprazole when it can be sold over the counter?  It's so confusing to me.

ANY compounded pharmaceutical IN the USA, needs a prescription, regardless of dosage--whether OTC or Rx dosage. It's your insurance that you are getting what you paid for and that governing boards of pharmacy insures you are getting USA grade pharmaceuticals compounded legally by certified pharmacists. I'm in the process of hiring a contract manufacturer to produce an OTC version of my formula. It is Lab proven by Eagle Analytical Lab in Houston, TX for stability and potency AND endoscopic proven by the University of Minnesota to treat equine gastric ulcers.
