Location: Delaware | Opinions on Hoosier trailers? Stuck between a Lakota with a 9ft short wall and a Hoosier with a 10ft short wall. I've read a ton of posts on here about bison vs Lakota but I'm not finding much in my search on Hoosiers.

Location: Buffalo, TX | I used to carry Hoosiers. The reason I stopped was that that every single one had a warranty issue somewhere. I do want to say that the customers liked the trailers in spite of the warranty stuff. They are very horse friendly and have a HUGE amount of room for the horses in both height and width, and I believe on the 2015's, they changed from a glued on wall material to a sprayed on rhino type lining, which was a lot better. The rumber floor is lifetime and it's a really nice floor, which is a plus over the Lakota. Don't buy a slide out, they have a history of problems with those that dealers can't fix, they have to go back to the factory. The floor alone would tip the scales towards Hoosier and not Lakota, but Lakota does a good job in the LQ making them look westerny with nicer finishes, even though they are RV quality.
They are Amish owned and built, so the LQ's look somewhat plain, but I think they are trying to bump up the western finishes. I think they are a good choice for trail riders or for an entry level trailer if you avoid the slide out. They are price competitive and a much better choice than Bison. You will be very happy with the horse part of it, maybe not the LQ.
Side note: Let me explain how the RV industry in Indiana works vs "normal" horse trailer manufacturers in other areas of the country...
I'm a Platinum dealer....they are quality checked at the factory, like most "normal" brands, so when they reach the dealer there is very little chance of a problem....everything is made by humans, so no one is perfect, but even Exiss quality checks their trailers first.
Trailers like Lakota, Hoosier, Bison that all include the LQ built at the factory are made in Indiana, which is the hub of the RV industry...and most of the RV parts are made there too...that makes it a lot cheaper to build the LQ's into these brands right there, and they are built in like RV's with that quality of material....the difference is that the RV industry DOES NOT quality check the trailers at the factory...they expect the dealers to PDI (pre destination inspection) them at the dealership, so you get all kinds of problems that need to be fixed right then, and our shop stays booked up nearly 2 weeks out, so it was killing us to do all of the warranty work on these Hoosiers...we told them we would remain dealers if they would have someone PDI them at the factory before they were shipped, and they wanted to charge us a lot to do that, so we said no more trailers.

Location: MI | We have a Maverick, made by Hoosier. It's a 2014, I think, 10'ish LQ with slide, 3h, 8' wide. We bought it last summer, prior owner kept it inside and used it maybe 3 times total. We used it every weekend, until snowfall.
I love it so far, and the horses seem to as well. We found 1 issue, where a drain stop was put on backwards and we couldn't use the hose to flush the system, and the company answered the phone and sent my husband stuff to fix it, even though we weren't first owners.
So far, it's worked really well for my family and I!
