| I know this is not horse related but I'm hoping you'll help me out anyways. I recently started a new job which involves being on my feet all day. Walking on gravel and pavement, lifting and bending. The arches in my feet fall in if they don't have support so arch support is super important to me. Anyone work in a similar enviroment and can recommend some good shoes to try? I'm hoping to stay under $120 if possible. It's also outside so breathable shoes would be a huge plus!

| i just bought a pair of durango rebelatious, for 50.00 and love them. they are on sale everywhere. i like them better than ariats. whenin 15 minutes broke in i mhave seem them at thirty bucks. |

Yes!!! I bought a pair at Shawnee IFYR last year, and they are awesome!! I've worn the crap out of them, and they are still in great shape and still look good! If you can wear a kid's size, you can get them about $35 cheaper too :) |

| The only thing that helped my arches was getting good quality (meaning expensive) insoles. I can put them in any shoes and they e helped my foot/knee/lower back pain immensely. I would go through a pair of the $50 dr scholls in about 6 months. So even though these were a lot more expensive they have a lifetime warranty and will pay for themselves pretty quickly.
I do like wearing them in my Ariat terrains though. My twisted x's were super comfy but no where near enough support for my arches and ankles. Comfy at the time, paid dearly for it later. |

Location: MN | I have flat feet so I need all the support I can get with having zero arch! I have tried so many different brands and I have finally found a brand where I dont go home and ice my feet becasue they hurt so bad (Im only 23 lol). Look up Asics Gel Quantum 360. They are out of your price range but so worth it. I believe they also have a Gel Quantum 180? that are a bit cheaper and the gel doesnt go all the way to the toe. Those could be a (little) cheaper option for you. Good luck! |

I agree!!.....I wear these all day and I'm on my feet most of the day here at the trailer lot. I wore them 2 weeks ago from 7:30 am to 5 pm Sat & Sun at an autocross where I was on asphalt ALL DAY...no shin splints and very comfortable. |

| Thanks everyone! I was looking for more of a sneaker type show, I should've mentioned that. I do wear insoles (most of the time ??) I wear Superfeet and although they aren't super high end they help me a lot! They aren't very soft though so I am looking into a supportive insole with gel or something similar. The Twisted X look really interesting. I'm going to see if any tack stores around here carry them because I would like to try them before buying them. |

Location: Lone Star State | Asics. Go to a running store where they have professionals there that can look at your feet and see how you travel. Asics makes shoes that fit different feet styles and the company spends a lot of money on research. Not just for runners. I have been wearing them for 15 years now.

| I have high arches too and while I love my Twisted X wouldn't recommend them for what you're looking for. Instead I would go with a running shoe designed for high arches. Asics seem to cater to those with high arches and are the only shoes I can run in without getting shin splints. They're not over priced either! I would stay away from Under Armor, they are cute, but don't hold up to daily use. |

Location: Kansas | Nikes!! when I worked in long care facilities, i walked my entire 8/12hr shifts and lifted over 200lb residents, nikes were super comfortable and I never had sore feet.

| If you go to a running store that has a Shoe Dog display. They are better than the Super Feet insoles because they form them to your foot right there in the store, so they are more custom. They run about $80 though. But they are well worth it. I use them in my ASICS running shoes but they will work in almost any pair of shoes, except dress shoes. You could also look at Merrills too. I know alot of nurses use the Dansko shoes. My ex MIL had bad arthritis and these are the only shoes she could wear without hurting.
Good Luck ... taking care of your feet is a big priority because they carry you throughout the day! If you can find a pair and afford the extra $$, it's worth it. |
