| I travel a lot for work. 6 weeks here, 6 months there, sometimes a year or two. The horses go too, and I end up going to most races completely solo, not knowing a soul. Sometimes I don't bother to try to meet folks, because I'm not there for long enough.
Anyway, was filling out my entry card today at a race, and really wishing that there was a place to write, In Case of Emergency Contact.
It's something that just popped into my head, and something I'll start doing on my own when I enter in person, but a lot of the time I pre enter, and there's no way to pencil it down myself.
It's in the back of my mind that should something happen, and I'm away from my rig and my phone, how would anyone even know which rig was mine, and how would they be able to let my husband know that things had gone haywire for me?
I'd love to see producers add a place to all their entries, online or not, for an In Case of Emergency Contact!!
Just a thought... |

| I know so many barrel racers get to travel in packs, but unfortunately not me! I'd really love a way for the producer to be able to just pull up my card and immediately call my people, rather than having to track them through Facebook or something crazy! |

| I also haul solo 90 percent of the time, and often go where I know no one. I think this is a good idea. |

| Great idea! I go by myself a lot too. I think I will start writing that on my entry form. It has crossed my mind more than once how they would track down my husband in case of an accident. |

| I worry, that even when I do write it on the entry, that no one will know to look for it, especially at a big race, since it's not something they're doing in general. If producers started up with this, they would automatically look for the number. |

For now since you haul alot to barrel races I would just leave your info on your trailer door taped to it so just in case something does happen maybe someone will know what truck and trailer is yours. At the 2,3 day shows I would leave phone numbers on my stall door so if something happen to my horse I would have at least a phone number to be reached at. |

| If we all just start writing this on our entry forms, the producers will pick up on it. I am going to do this whether I haul with someone or not. |

Several years ago, I'm sure someone here will remember, but we were in Augusta at the NBHA World show. A woman passed away in her trailer, and was alone. No one even knew to look for her until she missed her run and family at home was watching on the web. They could not contact her, and finally someone was either contacted and sent, or the family drove to look...I'm not sure, but they found her in the trailer. I'm not sure how that would tie into this, but it would be nice if there was a way to tie in Name, emergency contact, trailer or hotel location and stall information. Great idea. |
