Has anyone used Excel Digestive supplement by Depaolo?  I have been using EQ Stomach from Curost and I'm not having any luck with it.

I used the Stomach and Adapt for a month and then switched to Excell. She is doing great on it. She moves her cubes around to get at it. I moved to the Excell because I couldn't afford to feed all my horses Cur Ost. Flitastic told me about it. I am happy with it.

My horses continue to thrive on Excel as well. The horses that are running barrels are get the 2 scoops twice daily " Performance" dose and the ones I don't haul as much or don't really run get the 1 scoop twice daily " Maintenance" dose. SO far I am seeing better results with the Depauolo product. There are more ingredients in the formula. Not as much aloe and Marshmello root powder concentration as curost , but its working for me. And yes, my horses always gave me grief about eating some of the curost formulas and they to sift through their oats to find the Excel.

Did any of you use omeprazole first?  I noticed that Excell recommends omeprazole treatment first.  My mare is cinchy, crabby, and just cranky right now.  She's been on Curost supplements for a while and I'm just not having the results everyone else is having.  I have had her soley on EQ stomach for over a week and she actually now seems worse.

Have your tried Rejuevenate? You may be using the wrong formulas....maybe consult with Dr.Schell? I had to play with a horse of mine before I found the perfect combo.

Hi I've consulted with Dr Schell many times. I've also used Rejuevenate, and EQ total.  I've also used EQ Immune.  I'm just not having the success that other people are having.  I have also still had to get hock injections.  I put my horses on EQ total and they were still sore.  Believe me I've gone the whole nine yards with these supplements.  I'm not saying they aren't working for people's horses, but just don't seem to really work with mine.  They look nice, but this is the 2nd horse that doesn't respond to EQ Stomach.  I also have them on adapt too.

I have not used the omeprazole on any of my current horses. I have in the past though. My horses are all performing well and LOOK great so I wanted to see if I could just use the supplement FIRST before going that treatment route. So far so good. In fact I used to use the Curost Calm and adapt but don't need it now, my young one is just so relaxed now. Could be maturity and hauling as well, but good I don't need to buy one more thing.

I had the same experience with Curost. My horse still had to be injected and had ulcer issues. This is what is working for me. I feed Tribute Kalm Ultra. Add Vitalize High Performance. 125.00 for a 50 lb bag. And for hocks, I use Polyglycan every other week. For hay I feed Alfalfa (one flake) in the.morning with.1 flake of Timothy. At night.I just feed Timothy.

I've used Forco and I did like it but it doesn't stop ulcers. It got my horse eating again but didn't solve the ulcer problems.

The best money you can spend for better digestion in your horse is not a supplement. The best result is from greatly limiting concentrate feeds to under 1 1/2 pounds per feeding, buy better hay, and a slow or controlled feeding program or pasture, if available, that keeps your horses roughage source available to them 24/7. Being sure that care of the teeth is up to date, eliminating grain based concentrates, and round the clock forage will out perform any digestive supplement that you can buy. Remember, "we feed horses into trouble, and then try to supplement them out of it".

No, I didn't use omeprazole before.

I don't feed my horses grain. They get about 1/2 lb of oats and 1/2 cup of flaxseed once a day at night. My horses are fed good alfalfa and grass hay. It is put into slow feed hay nets. That way they have something in their belly almost all day. Teeth are done once a year. When pasture finishes coming in they will also have pasture to eat too. Everything they have been eating is all natural. I changed my feed program last July. The only other big thing that I have to worry about is not making them too fat with having hay at all times. My mare is the one I'm having ulcer issues with now got one dose of omeprazole last night and today she was significantly better. So I know her belly is hurting.

I don't have any suggestions but wondering if anyone tried the SmartPak products for digestive care?

Currently I'm just using Ulcer Guard and it seems to be doing the trick but I was hoping I could do something else to be more affordable for just local hauling and save the Ulcer Guard for big overnight events.

Currently trying the Smart Pak SmartGut Ultra on the mare that a high school gal is running. Mainly because I can send the strips with her and know my mare is getting fed correctly. I just started so I don't have a good feel on how they are working yet, but hopeful.

Those of you using the Excel, do you happen to have or know of any discount codes? I sure would love to save some money
