I was hoping that someone had also dealt with this issue and could share their experience with sole regrowth.

Expert Posts: 5290	Same here, colt off the track that was born and raised in shavings and soft footing. Never needed a tough sole. My farrier put him on 10 week shoeing schedule instead of 6 to try and get more hoof growth. Also use " Rickens" sole paint religiously. That will toughen and push the quick back. My farrier also uses hot shoeing on him to try and get the area to build tougher sole. I feel your pain!! So far its working and its been a year and a half since we started.
