I know there has been extensive talk about supplements for specific things. But what supplement do you use for overall health, joing issues prevention, calming, ect and why? Iv done some research on CurOst and Animal Element but would like to hear some personal experiences with other products as well.

The Foundation Detox by Animal Element in my opinion is the best overall supplement on the market. It is great for coat, hooves, joints, ridding the body of toxins, it now has tumeric which is a natural anti-inflammatory and magnesium. There are no fillers so you get your monies worth - the most bang for your buck! All natural and every single ingredient in it is good for them!

My easy keeper no issue guy gets AE Detox. My problem child has been on CurOst for about 5 months now. It has done wonders for him, but the price is catching up to me.  I just ordered Finish Line's Total Control Plus to try.
I got the largest tub, about a 4 month supply, so if at the end of it I feel he has regressed any, I'll go back to CurOst.

Im currently leaning towards the Animal Element. How long does the 7 lb bag last if you only feed 1 scoop a day?

I'm going with Curost Green on this one. THis formula is actually affordable and has all the vital nutrients in it as well as lower levels of Curcumin for general day to day inflammation.

I also feed AE Foundation Detox. It is a all around supp that I can afford! And I think 7lb lasts about 90 days.

I feed Safe Choice Original, alfalfa pellets, top dressed with aloe, offer free choice mineral block, good quality hay and water. I give adequan once a month year round, twice a month when I'm hauling a lot. Everyone has shiny coats and look great! :)

Not visually. My horses are always in great shape, shiny, slick, worm free, on a natural diet, teeth done, the best forage I can possibly get. So they looked great before, during, and after using it. But No, its not like I started the EQ green and suddenly had a " wow" moment. I think it supports what I already do with their care.

I like the Cur-OST Total Support.  Similar to the Green but packs a little more punch with added stomach support and higher doses of curcurming for inflammatory support.  It did make a huge difference in my horse, however he was very sick and I didn't have much to start with.  These products were a last resort for me.  I have used it on others that weren't sick for daily management of inflammation and the rigors of training.  These horses didn't have any issue to begin with and hopefully this product will help keep it that way by being proactive rather than reactive in terms of managing inflammation.

Vitalize High Performance. Don't waste your money with feed through joint supplements. They have been proven to not work. Give Polyglycan or something similar .

Good feed, good quality hay, and proper health and footcare go a very long way. I do add amplify as a fat source and msm ams pentosan, and sand clear.

Also lots of turnout.

I I have tried some supplements in the past and found I have better luck with the best feed I can get and addressing issues as they come with an excellent vet or farrier. My riding horse is 19 and not slowing down.

I don't believe in general supplements. If you need a supplement that takes care of ALL those things listed in the OP, you have a serious problem that supplements can't fix. Besides, most are completely ineffective anway. If your horse gets good feed and hay and fresh water, they don't need general health supplements. There are some specialized supplements that can help with one targeted issue though that are worthwhile. The only one I've tried personally that worked is Cur-Ost. My horse has inflammation in his back due to KS and this keeps it under control just as well as injections, if not better. It is spendy though. Unless you have some expendable income, I probably wouldn't use it as a preventative.

I have used both at different times. I used AE about 6 years ago and loved it. But I quit riding for a while and so quit feeding any supplements. I used it because we are surrounded by farm fields and I felt the horses needed a detox and then kept them on it because it was affordable and I liked how they looked and acted on it.
I use Cur Ost now. My horse had digestive issues. I love Cur Ost, too. It has really helped an older barrel mare who was a futurity horse become less stiff and travel more freely. Both horses look great and feel really good.
In the future, if I couldn't afford Cur Ost for my horse, I would go back to AE if it is still as affordable as it was.
