Location: Never in one place long | I'm thinking of taking a trip to North Dakota, probably to Fargo and Bismark for sure... wanted to know what there is to do there... I know many have said nothing but it's the only State I haven't been to and I'd like to see it even if it isn't as exciting as other states lol. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I was in SD last summer. It was in the 80s and the locals were complaining about the "heat". I was FREEZING. Lack of humidity? |

The Badlands (Teddy Roosevelt National Park) is great for some awesome scenery on horseback, with lots of trails. I highly recommend it, if possible.
ND has great fishing, especially on the Missouri. Hunting in the fall is outstanding.
Most of the state isn't particularly breathtaking, but the people are the best.

Location: ND | I'm in western ND, close to Dickinson. If you'd be at all interested in watching mounted shooting here's our clubs schedule for the summer. http://www.ndmsa.com/events Two of the shoots are in Medora so perfect for seeing the Badlands! |

Location: North Dakota | Definately come in the summer. We typically have the nicest weather from about mid June through October. During the summer months you can head west to Medora/Theodore Roosevelt National Park and take in the small town, as well as the surroundings. The town of Medora has a bunch of little boutiques for shopping and some fun places to eat:) There is also primitive camping if your into that. I'm more of a "glamper" so its not my cup of tea, but I have done it. They also have the Medora Musical which I believe runs every single night during summer months. You can also take in a Pitchfork Fondue if you want. If your into fishing Lake Sakakwea has some awesome walleye fishing and my husband just told me this morning they've been catching 8+ pound walleyes on the Missouri River in several places:) If you want to go north, by Bottineau, there is the International Peace Gardens, which I've heard is rad. In Bismarck we don't have much "touristy" stuff to do, except for the Heritage Center. They recently renovated it and its pretty dang cool!! A fun place to take kids, if you have them, as there is a lot of interactive displays. If you come over the 4th of July DEFINATELY take in our Mandan Rodeo Days. Its some pretty good rodeo action and on the 4th they have a pretty grand display of fireworks:) Happy planning!! |

| The scenery is completely different from East to West, with the Western part of the state being absolutely breathtaking and the Eastern part being completely flat. Fargo/Moorhead is home to multiple universities and is very much a decent size city. Downtown is really fun with a lot of really nice boutiques and a LOT of nice restaurants. There is also horse racing a few weekends each summer, a zoo, IDK...in the summer we are either barrel racing or on a lake someplace!! Bismarck is a really nice city as well, the river and outdoorsy aspect seperate it from Fargo/Moorhead IMO.
I don't know, I think we've got a pretty good thing going in ND. Josh Duhamel is from Minot and he still Raves about ND and visits quite often. |

Location: North Dakota | I live near Fargo and I would say there isn't much do to on this side of the state. The western side of the state is better and the badlands are a must see. Theodore Roosevelt National park is a great drive where you canl see wild horses and other wildlife.
It may be cold most of the year, flat as can be, and windy as heck but I love it here. Hope you make it to ND sometime!
I think ND is beautiful in it's own way but a lot of people just can't look past the cold.

You know I was joking, right? Not exaggerating, but definitely laughing. We're planning on taking our kids up there in a few years--the trip last year was half business/half getaway and 100% childless. |

I think we are totally used to people saying how cold it is and just laugh! I usually wonder why I'm still here but for some reason it sucks you in!

Haha yes I was actually referring to a lot of the people who live here.. they never shut up about the cold.. silly place to live if you can't handle the cold. It was 70 yesterday with only like 5 mph wind and I complained about the heat like 5 times lol. After winter you just aren't used to it right away haha |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | Next time I'll know to pack warmer clothes. It's beautiful country though, even the flat "boring" parts. We're Farm Nerds tho and the differences in crops and field layouts was fascinating. |

Location: North Dakota | I was reading the post about the lady who dumped a water moccasin out of her Miracle Gro bag, and it quickly reminded me WHY I live in ND
If you make it here, Medora is a must see. Musical, National Park, shopping, ND Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum, etc. |

Location: North Dakota | Β I live in Bismarck! Definitely check out Medora/Teddy Roosevelt park. The drive from Bismarck to Medora is amazing! Fargo and Bismarck are both super nice towns but not really touristy. If you want a really unique place to go out for a drink in Bismarck there's a "secret" speakeasy on the 2nd floor of the Humpback Sally's/ LΓΌft building downtown. It's AWESOME! |
