What brand of dry food do you feed?
Also, I know quite a few on BHW used to cook for their dogs, what is a proper protein, carb, fat ratio?? What do you typically prepare?
My dog is pretty sick right now, and I was instructed to feed him boiled chicken and rice until his stomach settles and his appetite returns. Then mix with dry food, then eventually return to dry food.
But I'm thinking about continuing to make his food, or at least a portion of it.

Thanks for any info!!

Taste of the Wild - my little hoodlums love it.  It seems like their coats are better since they've been on it, fewer allergies.

My dogs would randomly throw up. I changed to 4Health (Tractor Supply) and neither have thrown up since. It is grain free. They have thrived and I am happy!!

I've had really good luck with taste of the wild. I get a different flavor (protein source) each time.

I'll also put my vote in for Taste of the Wild - ever since my little Tillie had her sick episodes last fall I switched to TOTW and she has really blossomed on it. My 7mo. old mini aussie also gets it now.

Thanks guys!! He was on 4Health a while back but it wasn't convenient to make the trip to TSC. So most recently he was on Diamond Naturals. Of course I've heard a LOT about Taste of the wild, but I'll check out the others also.
My ponies are on Renew Gold so I'll definitely check that one out.

We also feed Taste of the Wild . Our dogs do very well on it . My little dog loves vegetables so he gets to supplement his diet with veggies.

PB or Pure Balance. It's a grain free that's at Walmart. Most convienant for me. Dogs like it and look good. I feed the salmon recipe. Don't feed anything with rice because of arsenic. May not matter but just makes me happy

Mine started on Purina Proplan and about the 3rd bag, screaming diahrea...took me a little bit to figure out it was the dog food and my dogs were not wormy or sick.
Switched to Diamond and about the 4th bag, the same thing.
Now on TOTW and have been on it for about 8 months.  No issues to report.
By the way, check your TSC...just bought the 30lb bag for $5.00 off, so I picked up 2 bags.

after an extensive thread on here we switched to Blue Buffalo (which is excellent but fairly pricey) A few on here talked very very highly about 4Health as a close alternative to Blue Buffalo and we've settled on that. It's also rated 4 stars on our Vet's list of dog foods and the purina brands we Had been feeding were VERY low on that list with 1 or maybe 2 stars.

Taste of the Wild! Our doberman loves it and looks/feels wonderfully on it- he gets the waterfowl one.
