Location: Bastrop, Texas | He stayed true to his Minnesota roots. The guy was an amazing talent and I really liked his music. I saw him in concert in Fargo in 1997 and we had front row seats. He was an amazing dancer, every bit as good as Micheal Jackson, and he played practically every instrument. When you see him that close during a performance, you get an idea just how people like him pour so much into their work. You have to be incredibly fit as well as talented. Here's one of his songs that always got me pumped up:
RIP Prince.

Have you seen are even heard of a movie called Purple Rain, it's really a lame movie but Prince stared in it, I think it was made in the late 80 early 90's. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | Never cared for him but I respected how he stayed true to his roots.
A spokeswoman for him was on FOX and I found it pretty creepy as instead of being emotionally distraught it was like a celebration of sorts. Maybe it's her way of handling grief. Who knows but it was bizarre.
RIP Prince.. |

Two singles off Purple Rain(the album) made it to #1 on the charts.
To this day When Doves Cry is the only song without a base line to ever reach #1

Glad I'm not the only one that remembers this song, loved his voice, am I the only one on here that saw the movie? I hope not |

Location: Southwest Minnesota | I will miss his music...I have a lot of (dating myself here) great memories cruising the strip listening to the sound track from the movie Purple Rain. I saw the movie twice in theaters and inumerable times at home. Pretty sure I own the DVD. He was cocky, but had a right to be. There will never be another musician like him. At least not for me. RIP Prince Rogers Nelson... |

Common Sense and then some
Location: So. California | He was a true artist in every sense of the word. A master of his craft. Sing, dance, instruments, one heck of a performer...
Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, Raspberry Beret, U got the Look and soooooooo many more...
Most of all he stayed true to himself, he was who he was and refused to fit into a mold or change to meet someone elses standards or ideals. Marched to his own drumbeat. He also bought up all of his music rights. Financially, he was in control... smart, smart man.
RIP Prince |
