| Llave, " The Key Grip" laid to rest yesterday due to colic complications
LLave " key" in Spanish , took my sister Kay Blandord to NFR, won Fort Smith 3 years in a row. he had a special place in our hearts and a big part of our family. Now in God's green pastures
Father God, Lay You hand of comforting peace for Kay and Robert Blandford. Amen  |

I started Llave as a three year old rode him 3 months while Kay and Lanita Powers were off Rodeoing. He was a natural and LOVED running barrels, Heart as big as Texas. |

She was so nice in letting us ask her about 4984654068789 questions about him and her other horses and allowing my mom to stand by his stall and stare for a few hours a day. What a blessing he was to our sport and what a great team he and Kay were to watch! RIP, Llave! |

Location: IM A DUDE!!!!!!! | My first horse magazine ever was Horse & Rider with Kay and Llave on the cover. I remember thinking that Llave looked like my gelding Halfmoon. After that I became a fan of Kay and Llave. I even remember going through tack catalogs and even asking on here, if anyone had an O ring combo similar to what Kay used on Llave. I don't know how many magazines I have or how many tapes filled with barrel racing from tv that Kay and Llave competed. I even have an older black stud that is Llave's nephew lol.....Many prayers to Kay and her family at this time....its never easy to lose one but the memories will always be there! |
