| Your going to get a LOT of opinions on here. I would do a google search for " ulcer treatment barrel horse world" and it will bring up probably 1000 threads on ulcers. One thing is certain, it doesn't matter what you feed them or give them to prevent them from coming back , you have to find what caused them in the first place. It's usually stress! We found out my colt was an internal worrier. Lol he always seems relaxed but I guess he was holding it in. I use adapt and calm from curost to treat the worry, and Excel from Depaolo equine as a supplement to keep them away. Dose of gastro guard before hauling and runs! |

| Maintain the treatment with THE Performance Blend or Muscle Mass with the Ulcer Guard additive! Works so great for my mare! |

If your comment was towards the pictures I posted, they continued their training. The only change in their life was GastroPLUS was added. Works on gastric and hind gut ulcers |

How much GP did they feed during that study and do you know if they dosed it or added it to the feed? Those results are amazing! I knew the GP was good but I don't think I have ever seen those pictures before. Impressive! |

Cato was 1/14/11 to 2/16/11 Indian was 1/19/11 to 2/28/11 Industry was 1/24/11 to 3/9/11 I can ask on dosage, but I would imagine it is per the bag directions. Directions per the bag Per 1,000 lbs horse, as a top dress to their horse feed, administer 2 level scoops (20g) per day for the first 5 days, then 1 scoop per day thereafter. For horses in heavy training, administer 2 level scoops twice a day for 10 days, then 1 scoop a day thereafter. |

| Equi-Sure by Pro Earth Animal Health. A lot of people who use this are able to take their horses off all other GI meds. https://proearthanimalhealth.com/product/equi-sure/
It works better and ends up being around $1.50-$2/dose give or take depending on the bottle size you order. Also makes them eat and drink on the road. Just a great product. I've used it for 2 years, took my horse off of it this spring simply because I ran out and didn't order more, and had a noticeable difference in my horse, body composition and behavior. I give it every day for about a week to start off, then just once weekly, once before they get on the trailer, and right before I warm up. Some people use it every day. Also, it has colloidal silver, so it prevents illness. I know humans who take it as well, it's that good. Can't say enough about it. |

| They were allowed to take any medication that they were on No ulcer product except The GastroPLUS they did not change any training regiment. They were dosed 2 scoops for the first 7 day's as a loading dose then one scoop a day until the 90 days were up. |

Location: Got Lobsta? | I gave my horse time off - 28 days on Gastro and during this time put him on SmartGut and changed his feed to RG and added Aloe Vera Juice. Use Ulcer Gard when hauling. Knock on wood, no problem since! |

Couple years ago I did not have good luck with Renew Gold but Now that I have got my horses' hind guts working properly I am giving it another whirl on my off the track colt that we just discovered must have had some pretty bad ulcers. He is the type you would NEVER in a MILLION years suspect to be ulcery. Never off feed, slick, shiny, " Appeared" to be relaxed. Vet had me treat with ulcerguard for 2 weeks just to see if there were any performance changes. Let me tell you.... DIFFERENT HORSE. He used to paw at side of the trailer alone, he went from not turning first barrel all the time to PUSH STYLE over and under from a mile away and he inhales it. Stands at trailer like an old kids horse.. Never in a million years. He is an INTERNAL stresser.
Anyway, I am working with vet on best long term plan. No whole grains at all. Back on Renew gold to try. Just waiting to see if I need to give daily Rinitidine or UG. He is on the Depaolo Excel and that really helps to. |

This stuff is expensive, but it's currently showing great results in racetrack studies. |
