Not so sure it does much for the horses, though to be honest mine are 90% shedded out anyway, but great for cleaning my wool pads and the wool cinch on the treeless saddle!!! I normally give them a once over every week with a metal curry comb and then wash them a couple times a year and thought it had been working well. Got the shedding blades yesterday and decided to hit the pads since my horses dont' have any hair to work on....WOW! If for nothing else, highly recommend them for that.

It works great on a horse that is shedding out. I bought 2 different brands and this was the best one.

I've been buying hack saw blades for years for shedding out horses. Wish I would have thought of patening a grooming tool way back then. Lol

Okay! I wondered what to do with mine for the other 11 months of the year.

I use a hack-saw blade.  My husband will give them to me when they aren't sharp enough for him to use.  They work great and don't cost me anything.

I got two, a 5 inch and a 2 inch, didn't cost me much as I had Schnieder bucks to spend from purchasing new winter blankets last fall for the crew when they came on sale. Never thought of the hack saw blade though its nice to have a handle to work with.

Back in the early 70's a family friend had a hacksaw blade set in between two pieces of wood that we used to shed horses off with, not a new invention.  No days I just keep the hacksaw at the barn in the spring to use on the horses.

My son has been building his own with a large diameter dowel with a hacksaw set into it.  It's easier to hold and pretty darn cost effective with worn out blades!

He needs to come up with a catchy name and patent it! May make him some money!
