Location: North Carolina | My family and I are going to be taking a job down in Baton Rouge and are having trouble finding homes with land for rent or boarding. We have 5 mares, one yearling calf, and 3 dogs. For a house with land we would be able to pay up to $1200 a month. If we have to board we would be able to pay up to $100 per head. We need something within an hour and a half of Baton Rouge. Any help on where we could look or if you know of anything would be much appreciated!
Thanks in Advance!

Location: Opelousas, LA | I would post something on the NBHA LA04 Facebook page, maybe BRBRA (Baton Rouge Barrel Racers Assoc.) also. Traffic around BR can be a bear so I would try to get home, work and horses on the same side of town if you can. |

Location: North Carolina | Thank you Barnmom, I'll check those out! I'm also well aware of BR traffic haha, not looking forward to that but we'll manage.
Anyone else? |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | Folsom is nice, but it's a long way from Baton Rouge. I know there are plenty of places for sale around denham springs and walker. You might try contacting a real estate agent in that area. If some of their sellers might consider renting, they could point you in the right direction. Livingston parish is probably going to be the less expensive area, and not a bad commute. If you end up over here in tangipahoa, drop me a line. Although, if I'm reading your post right, you don't want to be this far outside of b.r. I did commute for a few years, and it wasn't so bad. Small price to pay for being away from the city traffic. |

Location: North Carolina | Thanks for this idea, hadn't thought to try that. How far out is your area? |
