one came up 3 legged and I don't know the best way to treat it. Its on the bulb, but has not come out yet. Lower leg is swollen with a tad bit of heat to it. I put icthamol on it and wrapped it, but was told not to soak due to if there's other weakness in the hoof, itll travel that way also.

Help? Please? TIA

Wrap it up with the abscess draw recipe found in the pinned posts at the top.  It works great on these type abscesses, as I unfortunately know from a lot of experience.

Put the draw on the spot where the abscess wants to break out.

Yep...you want it to come out the quickest way possible...once it is breaks open, it will heal right up.

Do you live in an area where there is cactus or mesquite? There might be something in there.

no cactus or mesquite that I can see in the pasture. Dr'd it last night (packed with icthamol only) and then husband wrapped again this morning with the same and when I went to dr her this evening with the recommended stuff from here, she wasnt giving to that leg & I couldnt tell if it had busted. I hydro'd that leg/foot then dried it off before I packed/wrapped. Will check on it again in the morning. Thank you all for the suggestions.

Zipping up flame suit: I lance them, especially when they are on the bulbs. I disinfect the area, use a clean scalpel, and make a small incision. Once its lanced I soak it to help draw out anything that's left and make a sugardine paste, pack it on, wrap it in a baby diaper, put vet wrap over the diaper, and lastly gorilla tape over the top of the vet wrap to make a boot. A dose of Uniprim to boot and they are healed up in less than a week.
