I was curious if anyone knew of any own sons of Judge Cash that are standing at stud? I haven't been able to find any, but would really like to find a nice son of his with a strong maternal line to breed one of my mares too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There used to be one in Idaho, JC Cash, and one in Washington Calibslakacash( I think that's how it's spelled), but haven't heard anything about either in recent years.

I know Calibslackacash died just a few weeks ago.

 Maybe next year...
Judge Knott is placing in the 1&2 D against tough horses.  He was entered the first time 2-28-16.  Right now, just hoping he stays sound and healthy.
Kinsey has lots of videos on her FB page and there are some on Mighty Mind Bender's page.

Judge Cash has been around long enough to prove he is a broodmare sire and not a sire of sires ...

So.. if you like JC .... Find you a daughter or a mare bred up as close as you can and add some DTF/FG/STREAKIN SIX/ASOF/BULLY BULLION/DFP LINES ..... AND LET THE PARTY BEGIN ..

As posted above, CalibsLackaCash passed away. Very sad. Had 4 of his babies and very much loved them. Very smart and easy to train.

Just because there aren't very many sons of JC standing, isn't a reflection on JC's ability to sire sons who can sire. Many of his sons can be kind of hard to deal with. So not many are left stallions in the first place. IMO His daughters are easier to handle. Plus the northwest isn't a breeding mecca and most people don't want to deal with a stallion. They just want to ride.

I know of some really nice JC geldings up here in the Northwest that I absolutely love and wished I had the money to purchase. I've also seen some JC mares and they were nightmares to deal with, but could outrun anything in any pen, big or small pattern.

Of course there can be daughters that aren't fun. That's pretty normal. There are two sides to the pedigree. Both of my JC daughters are pretty nice to handle and be around. I've had MANY grandkids and most are nice. They do have a little "bite" to them sometimes and it's more in the males than the females.

Key word is "gelding". Stallion sons of JC can be a handful. I've had a few. Naturally gelding them helps make them less difficult to deal with.

Thank you.  I was hoping if we ignored him, he would go away.  I have three fillies that I will cross on mine someday, God willing, and one of them was an ET baby.  According to BhUSA, she is crap too.

As is often the case, people don't look at ALL the facts. Many people also think that JOH was a broodmare sire. Not necessarily. There are a very small percentage of males by JOH that remained stallions. Few of those were ever promoted. When I did the research before buying my stallion, I looked up equistat results on paternal and maternal grandkids of JOH by money won. The result was that the money won by many more maternal grandkids of JOH was almost equal to the money won by paternal grandkids. Proving that there is no bias between either paternal or maternal sides of the pedigree JOH was on.

Also, what may be true for the racehorse segment of the industry may not hold true when crossing over to another industry.

There is no doubt Knotthead is one (a Knotthead).  His mare line was a little tough too though.  We raised most of the horses on the bottom side of his pedigree and they include very nice proven horses, that might bite or kick if the mood strikes.  He and Kinsey went a round or two, she won and he loves her.  She and Charymane are the only two people to throw a leg over him.  Kinsey was 14ish when she started him.  Sarah's daughter rides hers as well.

I think the secret to them is to give them a job. You did that. Plus when I was young, I camped on my horses like Kinsey did yours and Sarah's young stallion had a job as well. That will make them see things your way really fast if they have a brain. I like the looks of your guy and Sarah's. I wish you every success. I have a colt born this year by Tres Fortunes o/o my JC daughter that is really handsome.
