A month or so ago, I posted a few videos of my big red horse, Streak, and asked for advice on our first barrel. A week or so after that, I realized that every time I touched his face, he shook his head. Considering that he is 16 hands barefoot and massive in every way, I got to wondering if the bit was pinching the sides of his mouth, so I threw a Jim Warner hack on him at a jackpot May 1st and cruised him through. He completely relaxed and did great so I've kept running him in it and we've consistently been in the top half of the 3D - less than 1.5 seconds off! I know changing bits isn't typically a quick fix, but I think the hack has just eliminated enough pinches to let Streak relax and work.
Here are a few of his recent videos, including his pole bending run - 2nd time running them EVER and only about the 4th time he even saw the pattern - from Monday.

- 13.934 won it and he ran a 15.209.
I have a couple others - the May 30th barrels video and one from May 22nd - but Youtube is being slow and hasn't gotten them uploaded yet.

He looks a lot more comfortable in his turns. Great job.

Thank you!
He is loving the hackamore and honestly I'm not doing much "driving" with my reins anymore.
Here's his May 22nd run - I don't think he likes that barn very much because this first barrel was just kind of sloppy and he's been snapping it a lot better in other arenas.

The May 30th run is still loading to Youtube, but in about 20 minutes it should be live at
