Location: Georgia | I fount that this and Aloe Vera Gel powder are the active ingredients in Cur-ost Stomach Supplement. Does anyone buy the ingredients and mix their own instead of buying Cur-ost? and where to you buy the ingredients from?
I found a place and after calculating what comes in the Cur-ost I show that I would spend about half as much if I buy it and mix myself, but I am curious if I would get the same results that Cur-ost does. |

Location: Alberta, Canada | I have used both on their own in the past and never had the results that I am getting with Cur-Ost. Biggest thing is the doseage... I think. But also remember that each animal is an individual -- you won't know until you try :) |

I would have it weighed out to be the same dosage as Cur-Ost, but I have two horses I would like to treat two horses with out the big price tag that is going to come with CUr-Ost  |

Interesting. How are you determining how much to administer to your horses? |

| Curost Adapt and Calm is Pure Ashwanga powder. Its a very tiny dosage (1/2 tsb i believe) and you can give a typical 1000 pound horse 1-2 scoops 1-2x per day. I leave my colt on 1 scoop daily and then use double dose day before and on race days. |

Location: Sunny So Cal | I feed GastroPLUS, it has worked well for me always and is simple and easy to use. All of my horses are happy and healthy. Each horse is different, experiment and see what your horse responds to best. |

Location: NE Texas | Just remember, there is no guarantee that the herbs you buy are as pure as what you're describing. Dr. Schell tests every single batch of every single herb he uses in the Cur-OST products and has to reject shipments before due to high metal content, etc in the supposedly pure herbs. There is no regulation on this type of supplementation, and there is no guarantee that the Cur-OST product is what he says it is either, but with the results many of us have had after trying to mix our own, the extra expense is worth it to me to get it from him, as he has the equipment, expertise, and experience to test it, wheras I do not.
We recenlty bought some herbs that I knew were used in the IR formula, as my husband had good luck with it, but Cur-OST no longer is offering it for sale. I did alot of research on finding a good herb source, purchased the three herbs that I knew were in the his formula (Bilberry 4:1, Blueberry 4:1, and Noni 4:1). I mixed in the same proportions, but it is DEFINITELY not the same. I can't even get the color to match and the results are not even similar. My husband has a friend who works out of the Cooper Clinic in Dallas and has taken the herbs we bought to test the purity and metal count. Will be interesting to see the results.
There is a summer discount right now on the Cur-OST facebook page for 10% off, plus you can get multi product discounts as well. It is expensive product, but has been so worth it to me on so many different levels. |

I am curious to compare the herb store you use with cur-ost. Have you used cur-ost before raisinrox? |

| By looking at the label for Cur-ost. It's 13.5 g of each, marshmallow and aloe vera, 1-2x per day. |

Location: Georgia | Yes that is what I found too. I already feed Aloe Vera Juice, my horses seem to like it and it helps supplements stick to the feed. So I am hoping I can see similar results by sticking with the aloe Vera juice and not switching to the powder. |

I am having the same problem with mine. He is so nervous at shows but fine once in the pen. Also my two horses are extremely buddy sour so that makes the nervousness that much worse. I have tried to teach them to get over this issue but nothing has worked. |
