I used the cheap foam fatigue mats from harbor freight for a weekend show but going to youth world for a week is making me reconsider. I'm wanting a thicker stronger mat but not wanting to pay an arm and leg

I use the pelleted shavings, they are great for providing a nice cushion and don't move around or separate like flaked shavings leaving your horse standing on the hard stall floor.

I know walking around bonus race finals I saw a LOT of those snap together fatigue mats strewn around stalls.

I rented mats there, but I hope after I get Polylast put in my trailer that the mats that are in there can be cut down to be portable. That or I'm going to talk to Polylast about making me a couple sets. If that is cost prohibitive (although after renting them it wouldn't take very many trips to make up that cost!) we'll cut down regular mats but even at 4x4 those are still going to be pretty heavy and tough to move.

Yes that's my dilemma is getting a mat that's light enough to move but sturdy enough to stay put for a week

I second pellet shavings. I used them in Perry for open world and will NEVER go back to dragging mats with me. I out down like 4-6 bags pellets, wet them down then put the fluffy shaving on top of that. I NEVER saw the concrete once.

I invested in softrides for all 4 feet on each horse in 2007 when i first decided to try mats lol.. After having to pick up ****y mats from a stall and wash them off to put in my trailer while on the road rodeoing, i quickly called Deb Renger who was a dealer for soft rides and i met her at the next rodeo. I havent looked back since!

It's actually easier to lay down some peat moss and put your shavings over it. Don't have to mess with mats that way and it's a great cushion. Not all that expensive and actually helps keep your shavings in place better.

These are lightweight and easy to take with you. Used them at the Bonus Run and loved them.
