| Anyone who has a own son or daughter or granddaughter or grandson.
Have you noticed in them that it takes a while for them to mature mentally? Like things don't really click until they're older even being imprinted or not and they kinda ride and train with a big 'lol' sign above their heads? |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Nope. I have only had one. He is now 3, never rode consistant and with 30-60 days off we can just pick up where we left off. No BS. He's smart, willing and so mellow. Lazy if anything, but very athletic. I would actually call him a very fast maturing horse-mentally. Mine is by Firewater Finale and out of a Shoot Yeah daughter. |

| We had 1 that we bred and raised. He was out of a Roan Wolf mare. They can buck and be hard headed. We roped calves and ran barrels off of this guy and he was so easy to break and train. Show him once and move on - didn't forget anything. |

Location: California | My mare is an own daughter of FWF out of a daughter of Dual Rey and she is too smart for her own good, extremely HOT and gets nervous really really easy. She has, and continues to be, a big challenge for me. She is super talented, but her nervousness gets in the way big time. She is almost always over thinking you as well. If she weren't so smart I think it would help her! |

| Had an own son of FWF, I agree with the above poster. He was very smart, always thinking ahead and thinking he had this , way before he really did. He also was very easy to rattle and needed lots of confidence from a rider. This really never changed as he got older. Have a grandson now that is somewhat similar, but is a little more level headed. |

Location: Millington, TN | Nope. I have a FWF grandson ( by Ima Firefighter). He is laidback and lazy. I love him to death! We just got done with a Charymane James Clinic. No one could belive we was only five. He is so smart and caught on so quickly with the drills!

I have a Fire On Bug gelding and he is quite lazy, would much rather sleep and eat all day then be worked. He is a sweetheart and is really laid back, smart and quite athletic for his big size, but he has taken a while to mature mentally also. Most of the time he acts more mature than his age but sometimes he has a few episodes of being a big baby. He is also very proud of himself and can have a bit of an attitude when things don't go the way he wants them to so I just have to remind him where his place is lol. We've had a few come to Jesus talks haha! I love him though, just a typical gelding.

Location: Piedmont, OK | I have a 6 yr old mare by Frog Hollow Fire (by FWF). She is super smart, super broke but was a late bloomer. My daughter rides her all the time and she takes really good care of her. I bought her as a 4 yr old she was very thin, looked wormy, and she was very accident prone! Maybe she had to figure out how to use her long legs. She is tall and lanky. She is finally filling out - it's like she has a hollow leg cuz I feed her more than any of the others. she is also appendix so that may be part of it. |

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | Here are my thoughts and observations. I've had two own daughters of FWF. Both were very sensitive, easily intimidated and I would bet they could/would have been hot under saddle. Not at all the kind you want to thump on EVER. I haven't touched or been around a male horse by FWF so I have nothing to compare. But I've had grandkids of both sexes from those mares and they were all very quiet, mature acting, nothing upset them. One of the oldest colts by HAB o/o a FWF daughter is 6 this year. His rider is an 8 year old boy who ropes and does everything with him. The other is a filly that is 3 this year. She's by HAB and the owners sent me pictures from May where they were branding/roping on her and they say she's an old soul.
I also have two mares by Firewater Finale. They are both real people friendly. One is o/o a DTF daughter. The other is o/o a FDD daughter. They want to please. Very friendly. One is a little goofy and playful. But not hard to handle. They are not as fragile minded as the own daughters I've had. So far the foals by HAB o/o them have been nice.
So MAYBE it's the cross or maybe one generation away from those daughters they calm down a lot. I have noticed that on some other sires. Their sons are different in disposition from their daughters. |

Same, I think the farther back on the papers FWF is they get the athletic ability without the nervousness.
My own son was way too smart, HOT and a nervous wreck but when he put a run together you better watch out!
My granddaughter was built to die for, super smart, could get hot or nervous, but she was more consistent.
I didn't train either of them but, I bet they were both boogers to start. ha. |

| My gelding is out of a daughter of FWF and by Hot Dasher. He is SUPER laid back. I know he did not futurity because they thought he was too immature at the time so he was put on the back burner. I am thankful he was turned out and allowed to mature because he has turned into an amazing horse! I tossed around the idea of selling him because we don't barrel race much but I am too afraid I won't find another like him! Here is his breeding!

Location: Williamsville, MO | My grandson of FWF out of a Top Moon mare was literally born broke. Laid back, super athletic, smart and a mind of gold. He cruising a half second off now and has a lot of try, absolutely love him. I showed him the poles a few times at home and by the 3rd time entering just a couple weeks later he was clocking 22 second pattern. He does have funny quirks...he is 7 and i raised him. To this day he is scared to death of fly spray when you first get it out (even tho he is fly sprayed every single day) and will always be freightened of the trash can and mail box at the end of the driveway  He also opens gates and unties himself lol he is great. Wish i had 10 more like him. |

He's also a grandson of Rocket Wrangler on the bottom so I dunno if that comes into play. I've never met another horse who has so much try- he literally cut his front leg running the barrels this week and has been so stoic! |

Location: TX | We have two, an own daughter and an own son of Fire Water Flit and they were easy from Day 1. I trained the son and the daughter came from some one else, but they are full siblings and are both big winners. The son was easy from day 1 and so laid back and lazy himself until you hit the alleyway. He took to the barrel pattern with natural ease and acted like he had been trained his whole life. Because of this I have LOVED FWF lines! I have raised 2 granddaughters of FWF and 1 grandson of FWF and one was extremely easy and the other 2 were shy at first and scared even after being imprinted but with some handling became easy. The last two are not riding yet. Best of luck! It's one of my favorite bloodlines! |
