Pros? Cons?

It's been really moist here this year, and I'm thinking of using them on a horse with some significant white line disease until it all grows out.

The horse is on a grass pasture, not stalled, and not living in mud.   I have been keeping her up at night to prevent moisture to her feet from the dew, but if she's out and it pops up a shower while I'm at work, her feet get some moisture.  Was thinking the copper shoes might be another tool to keep it under control??

I don't have personal experience but I think the shoes are made of copper alloy. You may find www.kawellusa.com helpful.

We've just started using the copper (they call them "rose gold" ??) nails on my rodeo horses and the colts we have in training. They are antimicrobial.

You know, we've been talking about this for 20 years, and finally they're available here! I'm hoping to find the nail holes don't discolor and stretch, and that the hoof stays healthier.

If you try the shoes... please post and let us know how it worked.

It is a newer technology. My husband purchased the copper nails to use, but they run in different sizes. Husband called Stockhoffs and they said they were working on a few copper coated products, one being shoes. Otherwise we currently can't use the nails since they don't fit our shoes.

So how much copper is in them? Copper is a very soft, malleable metal by itself. It wouldn't hold up at all. Is it a coating on a steel nail or shoe?
