Location: "...way down south in the Everglades..." | I know there's always people on the band wagon for PC, CE Legacy, Iconoclast, etc. But was wondering if anyone has had any luck with some of the more off brands? So for fun and curiosity on my part, what do you use and what do you like and dislike about them? |

Location: CTX | I used to use the legacy but never got them to really fit right, so I tried the ventechs and now that is all I use.
I did buy a pair of RES-boots a while back (they where on sale... ) but they seem a bit big for my boy. Now maybe I need to use them on my big boned girl, but haven't tried them on her just yet.
So far, the ventechs fit everything I ride, so there will always be a pair (or 5   ) in my tackroom. |

| Veredus Carbon Gel. They're for jumping, but they've been way better than sports medicine boots. Lent them to a friend to make a run in, she's sold too. The fetlock boots are jam up and don't come off. |

Location: Montana | I use CE Legacy. I just bough some Pro. Choice SMB3 boots, and I don't like them as well as my CE's...it may just be that I have used the CE's so long that they are what I'm used to. But I didn't think the SMB3's fit as well as my Classic equines. |

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | I used to be a polo wrap advocate... However, they are very time consuming when you haul multiple horses and usually have to run close together at jackpots. I tried CE and never felt like they got tight enough. I constantly had dirt inside them when I took them off. I now use iconoclast splint boots and LOVE THEM. They fit like a glove and are super easy to use. If I have something that runs in back boots, I will still wrap the hind legs, but nothing but iconoclast on the front. Well worth the money! |

I've just always been a tad paranoid of polos (or in this case - they wrap like polos so it gives me the same thought) as I watched a bad wreck when I was younger with one that came un-velcro'd and the horse got wrapped up. But I do love the support of polos... |

I have the saratoga (breathable) and the regular wraps over them. Both are great and are holding up well! If you are worried about the velcro, throw some electrical tape over it. |

Funny you said that...sometime I look at my old Eskadrons and wonder if I shouldn't use them to work at home in since they are just collectiong dust these days  . The Veredus Carbons look really, really nice. |

| I have used CE, SMBs and polo wraps but my favorite boots to use are Iconoclast. I have had horses with suspensory issues (high and low) and they really helped support them. I also really like how they fit (seem to let less dirt in). Sometimes Iconoclast will run a little small so be sure to measure your horse and refer to their chart before buying.
I still have polos and SMBs around and I will use them from time to time for work boots or just to trot but Iconoclast are by far my 1st choice when really asking them to work or run. |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I liked the Pegasus boots when they first came out, don't seem to be as popular now but I have to say I love my iconoclast boots the best. I like legacys as well for an inexpensive pair. |

They seem to fit better and the hind boots are taller than the other brands. The Tough 1s fit smaller than Legacy or Elites so if you have a horse that's between a medium & a large, the large Tough 1s are a good knockoff of Elites. The Pro Equines let more dirt in than I like, but I got them cheap so I use them in the mud. lol. The Legacy boots are just shorter and I don't like that on my long-legged horses. I bought a pair of Iconoclast front boots once and was not a fan. They were way too small and felt really flimsy compared to my other sport boots.
Usually I use polos but Clifford burns through them (front and back) in 1-3 runs so I gave up and now I stalk the tack swap pages for bargain priced boots for him. |

Location: North Dakota | I sold every boot I had which included both CE and PC and purchased a set of flowboots. My mare is finally comfortable in her boots. She is one who will let you know when she is not liking something. She is happy and content in her flowboots and doesn't kick her back legs at her boots now that she wears flowboots. I'm not an expert wrapper but I put the flowboots on just fine. I do have a set of iconoclast I keep around if I need something quick to put on. |
