Tried a bunch of barrel saddles before settling on my Double J Lynn Mckenzie Special wide fit, and have never looked back. Would be curious to try the Martin Crown C, nice saddles!

I think you need to try each and then decide. The Double J's are well made but the LM I tried didn't fit my horse quite right and for my style of riding sat me down too much.

I liked the Martin Cervi. Fit my horse and rode nice but even a used one is $2500.

I ended up with a Cactus Marlene. It fit my horse the best (of the 3) and I liked they way it rode the most of the 3.

I'm in love with my Martin Crown C.

I also really loved my Reinsman but it was to wide for every horse I put it on so I sold it.

When I was saddle shopping, I sat in a bunch of them and they all sit so differently.  I couldn't find a single double J that I thought sat comfortably for me.  I liked the Brandie Halls Cactus out of all the Cactus' but still prefer the Reinsman and Martin.  You really need to sit in them and see how they feel to you

Martin uses the best quality leather, cactus has pretty decent leather and double J feels like stiff, over priced cardboard to me. Given, Double J has different skirt cuts and designs that no one else seems to have but I can't justify paying that much money for stiff leather. Martin's are heavier than all three but again, leather quality....
Just my opinion on leather quality.
I like the Martin's a lot but I like the trees Cactus uses over all three. I like the way the ground seat fits me. Martin and Cactus have WONDERFUL customer service as well. Can't speak for double J as I've never called. Didn't even sit in the double J after feeling the leather...

I have 3 Double J Pozzi's and a Crown C and like the heck out these, I have other brands as well and my favorite is my Caldwell, but the Martins and Double J's are great saddles too.

I have a crown c I love and fits my higher withered horses perfectly giving plenty of clearance. It also allows me to keep my feet under me. I had previously ridden in a double j pozzi which fit them well but felt like it threw me forward, forcing my feet behind me. I also have a CJ cactus that has flatter bars for my wider backed horses, keeps me level and allows my feet to hang under me. I can't complain about quality of leather, they all hold up well. I bought all mine used, that's the only way I buy.

We have 3 double J Pozzi's and the build quality of the 3 differs significantly, but they all ride the same. Tried a Cactus last weekend and didn't like the way it held me at all. I am hopefully going to try a Tami Semas because I hear nothing but great things about the way they ride and the build quality!
