Has anyone used a back on track saddle pad? If so what are your thoughts

My horse loves it even on South Texas heat. I won't saddle up without it.

Yes I use it under my saddleright. It is more of a liner to me, very thin

My saddle rolled with it as a liner.  Only time the saddle has ever rolled so I took it off.

I had one saddle that rolled with one and one that the liner always seemed to bunch under it.

I have friends who love them, especially on a cold backed mare one of them has. But it seems a little trial and error is needed

I will say my horse has high, sloping withers, so I don't usually have to deal with saddles and pads rolling or moving around on him. That may be the difference in experiences.

I started using 1 as a liner under my Saddleright last year and will not ride without it anymore.

I also noticed the liner has quite a lot to "shape" to it. The horse it bunched on is flatter across the back and with significantly less wither than the shape of the pad...pretty sure that was my issue.

We have 4 and I use them as liners under my 5 Stars.  Nothing rolls but my saddles fit pretty good.  I use them all the time.

How does it help their back? Just loosens up the muscles? Thinking about getting one too!

My understanding is the ceramic particles embedded in the fabric, reflect the horse's body heat back to the muscles. I know that the BOT liner allowed me to keep riding my horse with a less than well fitted saddle until one that fit came in. Before I was using the liner, his back was sore after riding. After I started using it, he wasn't sore. I have just continued to use the liner because he likes it better than wool felt against his skin. He is a pretty stoic boy, so when he shows me he likes something, I try to keep using it.

Back on track products the philosophy is the heat is reflected back into the body, therefore causing vasodilation which increases blood flow, which will in turn remove the lactic acid or toxins out of the area faster then without. The vasodilation can also increase the speed of reducing inflammation, or can increase inflammation depending on your horse.

My experience with the bot pad has been good, it doesn't keep in all the heat, the pad is still breathable.

I had a problem with it not laying as flat. I was worried it would wrinkle under the pad. I imagined it feeling like my sock was bunched up in my boot so I stopped using it. I tried it on several horses, wish I could have got it to fit.

I tend to think this stuff is a bunch of hooey. But.....

I bought one just to use as a liner (and just in case it did any good). Don't know if my horses like it or not since I brought it in the house and put on my bed to see if I saw any difference in my poor, old, fibro ridden body.

Now understand that I HATE being hot and I did notice that it did seem a little warmer on the pad....and I found myself curling up ON the BOT. Can't say I saw much difference in body soreness, but like I said, I DID find myself curling up on it. Enough so that I did some research and bought a Draper mattress pad to see if hubby could reap the benefits. Now I cannot say that I see a difference but it has been on our bed for several years now. A while back I took the BOT to the horse trailer but have not used it on a horse so maybe I will drag it back in the house.....

And I did find that it tended to wad up on the horses I tried to use it on.

I really like my bot liner... I use it everytime I ride and I find it helps Lola use her back more. I really need to clean mine though can you just throw them in the washer?

yes, I wash my BOT products all the time. I use a mild detergent without added bleach and DONT PUT IT IN THE DRYER!! They come out looking like new.

My gripe is that it is too small. I'm constantly trying to adjust it under my pads on my large horses. I actually gave up and haven't used it in a couple of years.
