I didn't try it on my horse but did sit in one and loved it. It fit ME well but I don't know about my horse yet. Also, Martin on this saddle have gone back to normal gullet sizes ie 6 1/2, 6 3/4 and 7 inches.

The back of the seat (cantle) is a lot narrower. It hits me on my thigh.... I like the height of the cantle and the fork but I like the width of the cantle on the Crown C and FX a LOT better. Maybe after I lose some more baby weight my behind will fit better. Seems to hold you in better than the FX and Crown.

How does the demo work? How did you know what size to demo?

I believe you just call and ask them about the demo program. I'm not totally sure. We have a tack store and my rep wanted me to try it out, so that's how I got this one.

I wish more people would chime in though!
I'm curious as to how well this holds you in on really aggressive, quick turning horse. I've not yet made a run in the demo and unfortunately my hard turning gal is on stall rest, so I can't try that aspect out.

I bought one about a month ago and absolutely love it! It fits my horse great and I love the way it sits. It is a very secure feeling seat, you feel very balanced. Ive got a Coats that I really like, but for me, it doesn't compare to this Martin.

I'd love to try one as I liked the looks of them ever since they came out, but it will be a while for me.

I tried one on my mare this past weekend and really liked how it sat. Curious to see how people are liking them after having them for awhile

I was able to try the test ride BTR from Martin.  I rode in it and made a few competition runs in it.
I LOVED IT!
It has a nice close fit.  I was able to sit square and stay put even with a bad stumble at first.
I currently ride in a Crown C and an Iron Horse. There is no comparison to the BTR.

So is a 7" gullet considered a wide fit?

I would love to demo one..  I have a crown c 7 inch gullet I love on one mare and on my gelding it fits him but I need to sit closer to him and I'm dying to try with out buying......that and the stingray too........................

where can you demo these?  I wish more people would demo I would much rather loose money on shipping than buying the saddle and hating it.............lol

I love mine, I've had it since last Fall now. I have the 6 3/4 gullet. I've had it on my thick mare too and it isn't a terrible fit, obviously with a thin pad!

This is my not so thick mare lol

Looks like it fits her perfectly!!! I actually just caved and bought a G-G. I couldnt find a BTR close to me to try but it was SOOO tempting to just buy one. I havent heard a bad thing about them yet!
