We are good here, just a little tricky getting out of the driveway after 14 inches of rain. There are places south and east of here that have had almost 2 feet of rain!

Location: Louisiana | It is really bad. I know of several people who had to turn horses loose. And I know we all say, "Oh, they should've been prepared..." I'm telling y'all my mom lives right in the middle of this and it has NEVER flooded like this. All records have been surpassed. People who don't get water in their ditches have it in their homes.
Thankfully my mom got her horses across the river before they were trapped in. I have a friend with horses on the highway hanging out.
I have lost count of friends and family with water in their homes.
My husband and I are high and dry with available pasture space but the roads are so bad we can't help anyone. Trailer is hooked up ready to go and we're sitting on the couch. It's horrible.
My brother-in-law had to evacuate his wife and 2yo horseback through flood waters during the storm yesterday. They just purchased their new home. Their neighbor had to be rescued and nearly drowned trying to save his horses.
I know they were predicting all this rain, but nobody ever thought it would be like this.
Thank you for your kind thoughts!!
The photo is the only one my phone would load. It's Hwy 190 between the towns of Holden and Livingston, where they got over 20" of rain. The railroad tracks are to the left and are under water.
These people on the side roads do not flood. This highway does not flood.

Location: Louisiana | A girl on FB posted photos of her family being rescued, and there are horses standing in the road belly deep.
Someone asked her whose they were...She said she had no idea there are horses everywhere. It's so sad.
I Can only hope they instinctively make it to higher ground safely. |

Prayers for all.
I sold one yesterday and when I left it was just starting to flood east of there. I bet lots of people are going to be stuck there with all the road closures, and the barns there looked pretty wet from what I saw. |

My husband's grandfather is stuck on the interstate. I have no idea WHY he decided to go to the sale in this mess. |

Not good, I saw where sections of I10 and 55 have completely disintegrated from all the water flowing over them. It was a good sale to go buy something though, horses overall were cheap considering what it costs to get them in the sale. |

I haven't seen the photos of 110, but the one of "i55" that has gone viral is actually a state highway between two rural towns, Hwy 10.
i55 is open all the way through currently. Some exits may be closed but the interstate is open.
He will be sleeping in his truck tonight. He had some people offer him a couple bottles of water and a snack. He isn't in danger of water where he is so he'll be uncomfortable, but ok. I feel for the people with children stuck. But rescuers have to focus on those stuck in flood waters.
And he didn't even buy a horse!! Lol. |

Where is he?
On i12 near Holden.
I actually have family right off the interstate he could've walked to/met. he's in no danger of water where he is. But he didn't want to leave his vehicle. Had the river not crested there, I would've made them make him leave. But it has crested and falling.
It's the river ahead of him a ways that has the interstate blocked.
He's only 20 minutes from home on a normal day. It just wasn't a good choice to cross the river today. |

Location: Dubach, LA | That's actually pretty common. Many cemetaries are below sea level. The water table is so close to the surface, many are buried above ground. My aunt who lived in Eunice had to build most of her inground pool above ground because you hit water a few feet down. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | My son and his family are in New Orleans heading home tomorrow, going to be travling on I10 threw Houston going back to San Marcos, is I10 ok going back that way? Really been worried about all this, been checking up on them, they been dry in New Orleans no problems but worry about them when they head out and get on the road, told them they may need to stay there for another day. |
