Holds the record for the number of starts.... I actually made that up. But he had 91 official starts, so hopefully he passed on his ability to stay sound.

 We had a gelding by New Design. He was big, grey and had a heck of a stride on him. A little quircky. He placed deep at Pendleton on that HUGE pattern. There were quite a few New Design horses that were tuff tuff barrel horses.

New Design was in my area in his later years and the colts were pretty popular. They were typically sound good minded horse who could flat out run. I had a daughter of him for a while but sold her, she was very sweet and quiet she went to Oregon I believe.
