What good barrel trainers are within 10 hours of the DC area?   Preferrably on the 95 corridor or I-81?

NC would be fine.  There's parts that are more difficult to drive to, but at least it's only one state.

Ducky is no longer an option.

I need to find out how Tanner trains.  I'm a Ducky-trained rider so I like my horses to hunt the barrel well and set and step out by my seat.  My hands are never going to be soft enough for an over-trained horse, and I'm old enough that too much work is just that - too much work.

Who/where is Jute Wright? Craig Brooks? Denny Dawson?

I know I've heard the Cagle names, don't know where they are from tho.

Josh is the same as Ducky - not an option.

Some take outside horses and some it depends on who you are.
All will respond to fb msgs and if they don't their wife or girlfriend will. FYI Bert is a girl and I think has offically relocated to TN to live with Bubbi

Why isn't Ducky an option? Did he move away?

Not sure how far away she is but HIGHLY recommend Brenna Hux in Durham, NC.  Not positive if she is accepting new horses or not but definitely worth a call.

I don't know anything about most of the names that were mentioned.  I will say that I watched Craig Brooks for years.  He is a real hand with horses.  When he shows up at a barrel race he is there to work - and work he does.  All the horses he brings get schooled.  I like his riding style and his work ethic.  He was always very polite when I would speak to him.  I've watched him for years and I've always been impressed with his training/riding skills and his disposition.  We never had to need to send a horse for training - but we always said if we ever did it would tbe to him

I forgot about Brandon mainly because he stays to the North, but he's a good choice.
Adam Roper and Bobby Owen are two you can ask as well, sometimes they take outside horses.
