I have contacted cactus about this. Thanks!

I have a marlene mcrae here that I am concerned about the tree. There is no area recessed in the tree for the stirrup leathers to sit down it, so it makes a lump on the underside along the tree. Is this normal for the saddle? Seems like it would cause pressure points?

These trees will warp if they get hot repeatedly.

I would be contacting whomever you bought it from right away if it was brand new and a store!

that was a change made in the later years of the Marlene saddles.   Sadly, that's the way they are.   I have a circle y where the stirrup leathers are run though, and no lumps.  I have also owned a cactus like you have described and my horse got sore , even with the use of a saddleright pad......

Sent Cactus some photos, there were some other issues with the tree I found too. They want me to send it in. Really sucks, blew all the money I had saved up on this saddle and probably won't have any money to have it fixed it needs it. Guess I better get really used to riding bareback.

Did you buy the saddle used?  If yes, the warranty may transfer to the new owner if you have just purchased it, just ask Cactus. If you bought it new you shouldn't have to pay for anything.

My understanding is that Marlene Owns the tree company and Cactus used to cover the tree. Since the tree is a composite tree (Plastic with other materials) the trees will and DO warp when hot. Can't leave them in the trailer, can't leave them in the sun... and so on and so forth. It is also my understanding that Cactus has stopped making the saddles on her tree and does not do business with her tree company any longer because of complaints.  They may have a few left in the warehouse that are still considered "new" but it's my understanding they do not work with her tree company any longer for this reason.

Has anyone ever sent anything to Cactus? Just wondering how their service is. The saddle should have been there tuesday according to my tracking. E-mailed the woman I was discussing the saddle with to confirm it got there yesterday, haven't heard back yet. Just wondering if it does need a new tree if I am looking at weeks or months. I guess I really want to know too if this is under some warranty or if I am going to be stuck paying for this. I don't think I should be stuck paying for it if its a warped tree as it was sent to me like that and I'd want to take it up with the seller in that case.
I have absolutely nothing to ride in right now, so really sucks, and don't have the funds to buy another decent saddle.

Still waiting for my saddle They originally said it would be back to me in 3 weeks, now it looks like its going to be 7-8 weeks. They had to completely replace the tree. Luckily they are not charging me anything for it.

At least they're standing behind their product.

Yes, I am very happy about that! The gal that sold it to me sure wasn't going to help me out, so I would have been SOL if I had to pay for fixing it too!
