Location: Bessmer City NC		 What sort of treatments have you had to do for your horses with stifle injuries? Were they ever sound to run again?

Depends on what is wrong. The stifle has 3 joints and numerous soft tissue components. There can be many things wrong. Some can be managed, some can't. Some injuries can heal well enough to continue to be a performance horse, some won't. Totally depends on what the issues are.

Location: MN		 Like the others have said...depends on the injury. I had a mare whose stifle kept locking up or slipping. We gave her about 6 months off from any riding. Our vet said we could have done surgery and cut a certain ligament to help prevent the locking but...the surgery was expensive and not 100% fix. She now enjoys her days as a trail horse. She's fine and hasn't had any issues since but she just can't do the hard turns anymore. Best of luck to you and your horse.
