| My 18 month olds are due for their immunizations (late) I had an appointment to day but started doing research on what to immunize for or not to... Day care says they need mostly everything but I am not in agreeence. I don't know what to do I know it's a matter of opinion but I would love to here what people have to say. My 10 year old daughter only has a couple vaccinations I opted out of them 10 years ago. Thanks |

| I'm not saying this in a mean way, but, how can you not vaccinate? Childhood diseases are terrifying. |

| Speaking from experience, it really sucks when a disease that can be vaccinated against (i.e., Pertussis aka Whooping cough) is brought to a school you work at and not only do their classmates catch it but teachers as well. So unless you plan on homeschooling through their life, please vaccinate. |

| Talk to your doctor about spacing them out over a period of time, like some vets recommend for our horses. I don't understand how it is good for their immune system to be hit with a bunch of vaccines at one time. My kids were little when the autism/vaccination debate was going on. |

The only thing I would add is tetnus. Mine didn't get the chicken pox because they didn't have the vaccine back then. They did get it, but it was no big deal, thankfully. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom, although they did go to a mother's day out at the church and rodeos and buck outs on the weekends. We just never had a flu or cold problem at my house- now allergies and asthma- yes. Personally, I would only vaccinate what the school says you have to and no more than that. |

| I share some of your fear..i did the the least amount possible for my kids. They received all the recommended shots as young kids. I don't load them up on others now. Everyone wiill have an opinion on this. Do what you feel is best for you.
I do like what someone recommended...maybe spread them out?

| Spread them out, but vaccinate your kids. I understand your fears, but the diseases are so horrible! Then you stand a chance to bring them to other children when it can be prevented. |

There is a reason most of the diseases have been gone but they are now showing up again because of unvaccinated children. |

At this point....there are over 450 cases of mumps in western Arkansas ...... totally preventable! |

This ^^^^
Be informed. I think that maybe spreading them out, depending on your individual child's reaction to their shots.
When our kids were little, I don't remember them being as close as they are now. But, I surely wouldn't skip them at all. Way too many diseases are gone because of vaccines and way too many are coming back because people are not vaccinating. |

| I don't have kids yet but we want to. With everything going on in the world the environment my kids will grow up in has been preying on my mind lately, vaccinations included.
I will vaccinate. However I am pretty sure that I'll find a doctor willing to space them out more. It just feels like a LOT for such a tiny immune system to handle.

I rather be safe then have my kidos pay for it later down the road because I didnt get them vaccinated. I got the mumps when I was a kid, I was so sick for 2 weeks missed alot of school.. I didnt wait on getting my boys vaccinated when they were babys. |

Not totally preventable. No vaccine is 100%. When I read about the outbreak when it first got started, all the kids at that point who were sick had been vaccinated for it. I'm sure that's not the case by now, but it did start in the vaxed population.
My kids are vaxed, but we didn't do everything (they got DTaP, polio, and MMR). If they had been daycare babies, I would have done more than I did. |

| Trust the doctors and scientists. We are not doctors and we do not know better. There are a lot of myths. Just ask your doctors lots of questions and follow their suggestions. |

| Trust science and history. Vaccinate your children. Speak to your doctor about your concerns. I would never miss a vaccination. My mother never had me vaccinated for mumps. I got it twice and it sucked. I got it twice because I have an underlying condition called common variable immunodeficiency if anybody is curious as to why I got it twice. |
