So my horse is with a friend who is selling him for me.. I told her I would come make my last run on him before he sold and say goodbye. He is in excellent shape and running 1D times everywhere and now im psyching myself out.. My last run we just loped through to make sure he was feeling good before going up for sale and the run before that we won the 2D out of almost 500 runners, so things have been left on a pretty good note.

I haven't seen the horse in two months and am already coping with him being gone, is it worth to go and possibly mess up my last run? Or fall back in love with a horse that I NEED to sell.. Ugh I know this is a personal decision but what would you all do?

I wouldn't, but selling a horse is really hard for me to do.

I don't think I would be able to, cause then I would want to keep him most likely!

I wouldn't. Like you said, you are coping with selling him, but if you make a run now you might back out.
Good luck and hugs, whatever you decide to do.

I wouldn't. I think doing so would make it even harder to say goodbye.

I wouldn't. Not so much because of making it harder to say goodbye but more because of that freak chance the horse gets hurt during that last run. Every run is a risk and I just see it as an unessesary one to take. If I was as attached to the horse as you are then that is another reason not to - they tend to always work better once you say the word "sell."

Since you are selling him and hes a 1D and your last run you were in the 2D with him, I would worry about my run not being so good if someone were watching him, you could mess up a sale if someone is instersted in him as a 1D. So I would say Nope, dont run him.

Well, first the horse has to sell. If you want to sell the horse why would you even want to ride it again?

^^^^ This. I never run a horse after I know they are going to sell (deposit put down, etc.) due to the freak chance that they might get injured. Plus, if any money has changed hands, they are no longer my horse. If you want to say goodbye, don't run him. Just go see him, kiss him on the nose, take pics, etc. and leave. That's my advice.
