What saddle/ pad combinations have worked well for you those of you that have wider horses with even larger bulging shoulders?

Your thinking of the Performance Saddle Company {PSC} they look like a Caldwell and now adays they cost almost as much as a Caldwell..

I have a Circle Y XP Bell that fits wide horses really nice and rides really nice. I'm sure if you look around you could find a good used one at a reasonable price.

Subbing to see what others say. So far the best fit I have found so far for my mare are a Billy Royal show saddle and a Martin ranch cutter saddle. CSI pads seem to work really well for her.

The Tami Semas is a nice saddle, but the "wide" tree is not very wide.

I had a maxed out Caldwell for my large shouldered horse. They simply make them wider however what they need to be doing is making more flare to the bars to accommodate. The larger gullet may fit the shoulders but then doesn't fit the rest of the horse. That was my experience. If you can find something with flare to the bars for the shoulders instead of simply being wide you will be better off. I sold the horse so didn't have to worry about it anymore.

I just took a beautiful 14.5 Circle Y XP in on trade and need to sell, as I just don't need it.  First bidder will likely own it.  I have it listed for $1500 on FB but all offers will be considered!  Somebodys going to get a heck of a deal on thi saddle.

I have a Circle Y XP on trial right now, and can confirm that it does seem to fit my large shouldered mare fairly well. Wish it had a touch more bar flare, but I am not sure if it more of the skirts being stiff from it being a new saddle or not.

They do make trees with more flare... TG, Rocket, Ultra Rocket. The ProRacer, ProMax, Maxxed Out trees are for rounder shaped, less wither having horses.

My maxed out didn't have much for flare just wide.

Meleta Brown with the freedom tree from Crates will fit the wide shoulder type of horses. And the one I have works best with a 1/2" 5 star.

My allen ranch has flair, something to think about pay down when you order the, make payments until it's finished most custom saddles take 6 months.

Coming back to say that while this saddle was good in the width department, it did not offer enough flare for my girl's shoulders.
