| 15k+ on a reliable 4d horse who pulls checks at big races. Not a barrel hitter, no gate problems and no drama. That should be worth money for someone who just wants to jackpot in my opinion |

| I think there's quite a few important points you're missing- Mare/Gelding, how far over ten, youth suitable, what kind of show record they have, how much maintenance is required, how they are to haul, how they are to run, ect.... |

agreed. Also, what else do they do? Poles, roping, can ride around at a show calm, easy to work with at home, etc. And what state? Also, is there more potential not tapped?
Texas, you're probably looking at 10 -15K, Iowa, you're probably looking at 4-5K.
Had a friend buy a solid 4D/5D gelding who was 14 for 3500. He's now 1D/2D with her, previous rider just didn't get along, and/or he took care of rider. Sometimes the price doesn't reflect the true ability. |

I purposely left out info because I have not put an ad up for her yet and did not want it to turn into an ad. She's a 12YO race bred mare. Ran at big shows in East Texas and LA. |

I guess geography definitely plays a huge role in prices when you get into the lower divisions. The only way you would get $15k for a 4D horse in AL is if barrels wasn't it's primary selling point. Like if it was a 20 second pole horse, or a nice rope horse that just so happened to also run barrels. |

Location: MD | We're talking about a horse who is 2seconds off here, correct? Or are we discussing a 4D horse in a 5D format? Typically, if I'm looking for one that will be 2 seconds off at a big show, it is because I have a novice kid, or an adult who requires a horse of that caliber. That generally means that I need an easy horse. Well seasoned, well patterned, easy to haul, warm up and run. The rider at this stage should be able to focus on staying on, switching hands and having fun. The horse should take care of the rest. I expect to have to pay a premium for those sorts of horses. Given that they have no extreme maintenance requirements and aren't ugly, a horse of that age, with those attributes, I advise to prepare to spend approximately $10,000. |

Β 15 THOUSAND for a 4D horseΒ Β Β
Again, that is for a horse that is sound, quiet, easy, honest simple and running 1.5 seconds off of $250,000 horses. There are definitely cheaper 4D horses available, just not as uncomplicated. |
