I'm looking to purchase a used 2014, 2015 or 2016 dodge ram 3500 dually crew cab. Not mega cab. Mainly looking for what kinda mileage you get with your pick up both pulling and empty. Thanks.

I have a 16 dually. I average around 19 mpg for daily driving. Avg around 12 with a 28 ft stock combo with LQ. Probably 14 or 15 with the 16 ft stock trailer.

I'm not worried about the tow mileage because their are so many variables. I was just curious of what people are getting that currently are driving one. Everyone drives different and have different trailers so I know it won't all be the same. I do read about what I am looking to buy. :) Just as stickers on gasoline vehicles...They aren't always going to get what they say.

Right. Plus it's hard to gauge what you'll get compared to others, because the loads and trailer weights and makes are so variable.

You DO need to pay attention to power though. Make sure you're getting a good transmission.

I made sure to get a 3500 with the AISIN transmission. I'll never go back to anything else. The thing is a beast.

I have a new 2016, 2500 Ram. I decided to go with a 6.4 Hemi. I get 20 mpg running 75 mph down the interstate. I get about 14-16 mixed in town and highway driving. I get just a little better than 12 pulling the horse trailer. I do use the mid grade gas that is recommended.

2015 17-18 mpg and 14 hauling, that will 25000 miles and not broke in. And I do think its important about mileage on tow vehicle why pay 8 mpg when you can get 20 and same power. just saying. buddy had same year and has 111000 miles and averages 25 and 18

Around 10 towing, 15 around town, 17 or so on the freeway without a trailer.

Just bought a brand new 3500 dually with Aisin trans. Only have 1100 miles and I get 15 empty and 13 towing my 3h sundowner LQ. I have the 410 rear end. The days of getting 20mpg are over. 25k miles is broken in. Break in usually ends in 10-15k. Most important thing is to work the crap out of it when it's new. Set the rings and mileage.
