First of all, these are not ladybugs. They are Asian Beatles. They are pests. If you see a few, there are thousands more. OK, here is the warning. If they get in your travel trailer or LQ of your horse trailer, you have a problem. Got in a friend's RV so they bombed it. Definitely killed them all but the smell was so intense, they had to get rid of their trailer. You need to get some cow eartags and put them in heater, hot water heater, and refrigerator compartments. Would not hurt to put one in the cord storage area too. I opened my rear tack and there were about a thousand in there. Not a lot of harm done was able to brush them out, but they will get in the walls and everything. I live in NE TX and I know they are bad in N LA also.

Thanks for this. I was out around the trailer two days ago and had several on me. I told Sean to get us lined out with ear tags!!! We're planning on going to NCHA Futurity and I don't want to spend time with them in Ft Worth in the next few weeks.

I call them manbugs.  They are a nuisance.

I think they tend more toward lighter orange where ladybugs lean more to reddish in color.

We usually have a bunch show up after harvesting soybeans. They stink when you squash them also.

We get them every year in our living room bay windows. They are awful, and just when you think you got them all, a 100 more pop up!!

Ours don't smell though. We vacuum them up with the shop vac.

They hate lemon so you can get lemon flavored cleaners and spray and clean with and that should also help out. I just spray Lemon Lysol around window sills ect and I have not had a problem so far.

Be sure and check the roof of your dogs mouth ....
these Asian beetles will attach themselves and make their mouth very sore ..
and they have a major loss of appetite ....

As if I didn't have enough insects I hate dealing with outside right now... I thought they were lady bugs too until I read this! There's thousands of them swarming around my house and porch. They land in my hair and on my sunglasses when I'm doing stuff outside. Ugh! How long do these pests hang around. This is the first time I've seen them. Soon as I warn my kids when they get home from school, they may never want to go outside again!

Whatever you do, don't use your vacuum on the little buggers.  Mine stunk so bad I had to buy a new one!
