So I bought a KLU from someone who said they used it once. I got is a few weeks ago and it looked like it was in new condition. Rode in it a few times and really liked it, then didn't ride for a week or so because it has been so cold. Grabbed it today and the shanks and the mouthpiece had considerable rust on them. What should I do? I'm not concerned with the rust on the shanks, but is a rusty mouthpiece something to worry about?

Use it, horses like the rust, the mouthpiece helps promote salivation.
