Subject: Carpal ligament damage (knee)

From an ultra sound, we have determined my horse has damaged To the Carpal ligament in his knee. From an ultrasound it appears to be frayed maybe a minor tear the next step would be an MRI or surgery has anyone had a injury similar to this ?
